Smirnova-Medvedeva, Zoya Matveyevna; Cottam, Kazimiera Janina (1997). On the road to Stalingrad : memoirs of a woman machine gunner (Rev. ed.). Nepean, ON, Canada: New Military Pub. ISBN 0968270204.

It looks like a different person. Smirnova was her married name and née Medvedeva. Also the editor introduction says he researched and couldn't find anything about her prior to WWII, which would be unlikely given the sourcing available if it was the same person. -- GreenC 05:43, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
