Zip of death seen prior to 2001[edit]
I distinctly remember seeing the "zip of death" prior to 2001, but it was called a "zip bomb" or something similar Specifically I found them now and then as pranks to mess with the BBS's file upload virus scanner or unsuspecting downloader.
