The Philippines is supposed to have postal codes, not the so-called "ZIP" codes. Okay, maybe they are officially called "ZIP" codes by the Philippine Post. But you know why, because of colonial mentality. See, this is just a very good example, and is one of millions of signs of colonial mentality in the Philippines. Philippines has way long been independent from the U.S., but still have a colonial mentality towards the U.S., even still to Spain. But whatever it is, the Philippine government was supposed to refer to the mailing codes no longer as "ZIP" codes, but as "postal" codes.

It's understandable, but we have to go by the official name. If Philpost calls them ZIP codes, then we should stick to ZIP code. But besides, not a lot of people use, let alone know how to use, ZIP codes. --Akira123323 02:19, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I came to the talk page for the exact same thing. If you ask the average Filipino what Z.I.P. stands for, they'll probably won't know. But they love using it.

Suggestion for someone to tidy entries.[edit]

1. I was thinking the word "province" should be removed from "Isabela province" and "La Union province". Most of these entries are provinces. In the case of "Mt. Province" I suggest it is simply changed to "Mountain"; this would help to make things a little clearer as "Mt." is sometimes an abbreviation for "Mount".

2. Within the list, I was thinking the province name should preceed municiples e.g. "Caloocan City North" becomes "Metro Manila > Caloocan City North"... "Pasay City" becomes "Metro Manila > Pasay City" etc.

Review and Commentary[edit]

There is something in the article composition that caught my attention. Plain cursory reading of the entire article will show the table entries printed in blue which, of course, a visual suggestion of being hyperlinked call-outs of a linked article. Notice however that text color suddenly changes from blue to black under the heading Metro Manila. And the color returns to blue just right after the said heading. I simply find the matter something out-of-the-ordinary. Metro Manila is the country's capital hence, called the National Capital Region. It is simply intriguing that areas all around the country even those considered most remote proved to have pages in Wikipedia that links to those pages are shown in their respective text highlight. And NOT (or without) the cities, barangays, of the Metro Capital. And of course I don't intent seek for answer. The point being is that Wikipedia, on accounts as the foregoing, can also be so SO VERY NOT OBJECTIVE as the suggestion there is more its pages sometimes ventures to reveal. Rather than uneasiness, for PLAIN TRUTHS TO STARE US IN THE FACE can sometimes prove to be funny. Actually... SCARY!

Recent List Removal[edit]

The article seem to be useless now without the actual ZIP Codes being removed on this list. Other sites are posting outdated ones and it appears that this has been maintained.
