Problems with the articles National Youth and Youth Orchestras[edit]

I see several problems with this page:

it is a disambiguation page, where re-directs the entry “Youth Orchestra”, when actually there is no article about youth orchestras. I think it would be to to have the article “Youth Orchestra”
I don’t see the point having two different disambiguation pages for Youth Orchestras and National Youth Orchestras.

What I suggest is: let’s create the article “Youth Orchestra”, regarding the general topic and explaining the types of Youth Orchestras (national, local or whatever) and then have a single list of youth orchestras. Thank you. --Karljoos (talk) 20:45, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Good grief. I took one look at this and the other page, and immediately thought to myself, "These are both List articles, not DAB pages -- and WHY on earth are they separate??" Glad to see I'm not the only one. Plainly they need to be merged into a single article called List of youth orchestras, with "National youth orchestras" as a major section. "Notable" ensembles[edit]

What determines if a youth orchestra is "notable"? As far as I can see, the long list of English youth orchestras seems to be somewhat of an attempt of a complete list rather than an excerpt. Wouldn't it be wise to maybe start an article List of youth orchestras and integrate List of youth orchestras in the United States into it? –intforce (talk) 18:56, 28 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the latter, it seems that List of symphony orchestras (which currently includes some youth ensembles) could be split into a list of "professional" orchestras and List of youth orchestras.
