Features[edit]

We don't need to list all of the default packages or their functions, it just make the article too large. TPFNoob (talk) 18:47, 10 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Untitled[edit]

Hey, I'd love to see the history of Yellow Dog Linux. It has been my entry into the world of Linux _and_ free as defined by GNU and the FSF, software I wanted to look up which release I was probably using back then, when I first installed it on my Powermac. If someone has that info and would be able to contribute it to this Wikipedia-entry, I'd be very grateful and even offer you a beer or two if you ever visited West Germany :) Greetings, Patrick Mon Apr 24 00:44:16 CEST 2006

What?[edit]

"and other well-known Linux technologies such as the GNU C Library, GCC, XFree86, and Linux." Linux is a well-known Linux technology?

"three commercial versions - boxed with manual, support and t-shirt; and whiteboxed with no documentation" and where's the third version?

What's going on? 70.111.162.219 16:06, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

--- (The closed nature of Apple Computer has traditionally made reverse engineering of such components difficult.)

AE is not working (exept with the reverse engineerd driver) because broadcom has not released information about the underlying chipset. Their choice, not Apples. Same goes with ati's and nv's graphic cards.

Merge[edit]

I propose merging this and Yellow Dog Linux together. Actually I think we could just delete this page and redirect but I'll go with whatever other people think. -- Vdub49 22:54, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Free Software OR Open Source[edit]

"Yellow Dog Linux, also YDL, is a free-software, open-source GNU/Linux distribution "

i'm sorry wikiboys but there is a big difference.... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.67.251.206 (talk) 10:12, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There's a difference, that's why both terms are linked to appropriate sections, and that's why both are mentioned since YDL is both free and open. I can't see what your problem is. -- Henriok (talk) 10:29, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

External links modified[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Yellow Dog Linux. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at {{Sourcecheck}}).
