Disruptive Editing[edit]

Requesting contributors to this article to please take note of reverts amounting to disruptive editing (WP:DE) by User:2409:4055:18C:DD72:0:0:2477:F8B1 - the user keeps reverting to a poorly written plot summary abound with grammatical and spelling errors and reverting edits on Cast section by removing reliable sources. There is missing information about the supporting cast and the parallel cast.Storyline is wrongly tampered in writing and gives an entirely different picture to the projection of the show currently streaming on national television channel starplus and popular web platform and app Hotstar.  Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Philroc (c) 19:57, 6 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The cast of the show are shaheer and Rhea. But they keep adding two more names. Shravg19 (talk) 07:57, 20 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Starring section[edit]

Creating a talk page discussion for Krish990 and Payalmishraa to stop edit-warring and discuss who has starring roles. Ravensfire (talk) 18:07, 13 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Payalmishraa please stop the constant reverting of the edit.I am sorry we should have discussed this clearly before. If you observe either in the story so far or the number of leads chosen by Rajan shahi[the show's producer]..its clear that there are 2 leads Shaheer sheikh[abir] and Rhea sharma[mishti] and 2 parallel leads in pivotal roles ie Kunal Rajvansh [ritvik arora] and Kuhu Maheshwari[Kaveri priyam] who share equal screenspace and roles in the show. There are hundreds of articles to show proof of 4 leads and here I give you one such article that kept being reverted by users ..but its actually the first mention of the show's cast if you see the date retrieved.I Request you to stop reverting the edit and accept that all 4 cast members are equal in the show..so you cannot eliminate them.what do you think ? https://www.torchindark.co.in/shaheer-sheikh-shares-a-picture-of-yrhpk-fantastic-four/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Krish990 (talkcontribs) 15:07, 14 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
But parallel leads are not main leads. There is also no mention of Producer Rajan Shahi mentioning them as main lead equal to Sheikh and Sharma. They are just supporting cast with equivalent importance along with Sheikh and Sharma. The relaible sources and even the title card also significantly portrays Sheikh and Sharma as leads. These sources also support my statement:

@yes sir/mam you are totally right but the parallel leads which are the supportimg cast mentioned in the starring section are 4 in number, then they need a mention like the rest of the wiki articles in which the main leads and supportinmg cast are mentioned as well when it comes to the serial description for accuracy reasons. @Anonymoususers frequent edit reverting needs to stop because supporting actors along with the leads are to be mentioned to keep the description and the cast of the show accurate in terms of multistarrer shows involving multiple celebrities and senior cast members.
Hi everyone. In many wiki articles the supporting actors are mentioned along with the main leads in the show's description.Regarding this particular show, the screenspace has been observed to be equal for the four pivotal characters of the story Abir,Mishti,Kunal and Kuhu.Anyone who is reverting the edits ,please kindly look into the starring section that is there from the last 1 year before reverting the edits continuously . — Preceding unsigned comment added by Krish990 (talkcontribs) 13:25, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I totally disagree your words. How can you ever say " In many wiki articles the supporting actors are mentioned along with the main leads in the show's description". You cannot randomly decide any wiki article as an example for your edits. You must follow according to WP:MOSTV and should not simply consider any random article for reference which may or may not adhere WP:MOSTV. Supporting cast receive screen space less than main but not equal. Supporting cast doesn't mean they are equal to star cast. They are considered to be placed in recurring section and not main section stating multi-starrer. Also, your references which are unreliable too does not support your statements of Priyam and Arora being leads. They just portray pivotal role/supporting role and there are reliable. Also you cannot revert war again and again without proper statement and reliable sources for the issue as you wish. Adhere to Wikipedia policies and not your point of view itself. Noobie anonymous (talk) 12:59, 9 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I totally disagree with this viewpoint. Each show has a certain amount of screenspace it allots to the leads and parallel leads. Here the screen space as per public observation and the director's team members have always included Arora and Priyam as equivalent to the main leads, only thus from the start of the wiki page their names are in the cast section not in the recurring .There is no favouritism for any actors as you point out here on Wikipedia. A number of wiki users here voice the same opinions regarding this cast section and if you even read the plot from start to end ,the parallel lead story has been the foundation stone and continuity of the whole series.Even otherwise the word "supporting' " has clearly been used to indicate they are not the leads ..so please don't make it sound as though there are no actors other than the leads in the series. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Krish990 (talkcontribs) 19:02, 14 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • A few things here:
    1. Everybody, please sign your posts with four tildes like ~~~~, so that we have proper signatures appended to comments.
    2. @Krish990: If you are trying to ping someone, use the {{ping}} template. "@" doesn't do anything. And the ping template only works if you sign your posts, which you have not been doing consistently.
    3. Everybody please indent your comments properly using colons. First comment in the thread doesn't need indentation. If I reply, I go directly underneath the previous comment, add a colon, and type my reply. Next reply gets two colons. See User:Cyphoidbomb#Talk page ABCs.
    4. Which actors have been billed in the opening credits of the various episodes? Or in the closing credits if there are no opening credits? This is how we typically divine who the main cast are. We don't get into weird labels like "parallel leads". If there are 2 or 6 people credited when the series opens, then that's typically your main cast, even if there are one or two people who might have more screen time each episode.
Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 14:58, 18 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the detailed info Cyphoidbomb Regarding the point 4 you have detailed now,the actors billed in the main cast section are Shaheer Sheikh,Rhea Sharma,Ritvik Arora and Kaveri priyam who portray Abir,Mishti,Kunal and Kuhu respectively. The parallel leads and main leads point is repeatedly cropping up on this page because people here are hell bent on discussing who amongst the four main cast are supporting only in nature and why they dont have to be included in the main cast.Hence on repeated requests from a number of wiki users who got offended seeing Ritvik arora and Kaveri priyam billed in the cast,on demand me and a few users have included the word "supporting " just to ensure peace on the talk page. From the formation of the page and the storyline I have contributed as far from a year,i can assure you that the cast have always been these four and the other cast were part of recurring section.Thank you,Regards.<Krish990>Krish990 (talk) 18:20, 18 February 2020 (UTC)</Krish990>[reply]

Where are Arora and Priyam billed? None of the sources which you have provided till now are reliable. The opening of the series credits only Sheikh and Sharma as main leads along with the show's montange. Even the overall description of the series features only Sharma and Sheikh everywhere including the official streaming platform Hotstar. If Arora and Priyam are considered as leads they should have also been included right?
Also, the plot of series need not necessarily involve only the leads. It also revolves around others in it depending on the track and role of the character in the story, while in this case Arora and Priyam's part is also mentioned alongside the main leads Sheikh and Sharma which doesn't make them equivalent to the leads. It is evident that they are not the main leads as they are not recieving equivalent role of the leads as evident in above areas and relaiable sources
Wikipedia rely on only reliable sources for the contents entered and thus I have provided it with the links:

1. https://indianexpress.com/article/entertainment/television/yeh-rishta-kya-kehlata-hai-spin-off-shaheer-sheikh-rhea-sharma-5570012/https://indianexpress.com/article/entertainment/television/yeh-rishta-kya-kehlata-hai-spin-off-shaheer-sheikh-rhea-sharma-5570012/ ... 2. https://www.indiatoday.in/television/soaps/story/yeh-rishta-kya-kehlata-hai-spin-off-title-revealed-meet-the-first-character-of-the-new-show-1459953-2019-02-19 which says Arora playing Pivotial role whole Sheikh and Sharma play the leads.

Thus I have a valid reason and point for my insistence of the Arora and Priyam as not the main leads. You can also check and confirm it out in the above mentioned areas (like show's description, opening sequence and montage, open credits, Hotstar) to confirm the name of the character featuring in those as leads. Hope you understand it clearly! Noobie anonymous (talk) 09:49, 22 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for those words Noobie anonymous. Here you are the one who is constantly editing my reverts back inspite of point 4 mention by user Cyphpidbomb. When you say Arora and Pritam are pivotal or parallel leads and the word supporting is constantly used and there are eye witnesses here from the start of this talk session and page that the main cast of both main and supporting have been 4 in number ,you still want to continue placing them in the recurring section.I shall cite thousands of accurate sources till you are satisfied don't worry ,but the lead cast are four and unless you are living in an imaginary world where Arora and Priyam dont exist ,given your consistent frustration for including them in supporting cast or as parallel leads,I can truly understand .</Krish990> — Preceding unsigned comment added by Krish990 (talkcontribs) 12:55, 22 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If so, then why are Arora and Priyam neglected at the open sequence, credit and montage of the series and not included still despite the series airing for almost a year. Then why the reliable resources used in this article, not 1, but, each of them are not mentioning them as leads. They mention only Shaheer Sheikh and Rhea Sharma as the leads and state Rithvik and Kaveri playing Pivotial role. And why would I simply revert if you provide appropriate correct information! And I am not against any of these. I am just following Wikipedia policy of providing the reliable sourced information. Noobie anonymous (talk) 17:59, 22 February 2020 (UTC) <Krish990> Krish990 (talk) 19:26, 22 February 2020 (UTC) your answer lies in your question itself. It is that simple because they are supporting actors hence they are not part of the montage.Specifically for this show the mention of supporting parallel leads here holds a great significance firstly for the citation in awards section,3 of which have already been won by the supporting leads, secondly for proving the citation reference no 25,26,27 the articles that are final proof that the casting of parallel leads in this show is crucial to the plot. You can go ahead any number of times to prove me wrong! ..just a single wiki user wrong ,but I can give you hundreds of wiki users who agree ,support and standby this viewpoint that this show has 4 main leads 2 of which have to be mentioned in the main cast section. This is a matter of the integrity of the cast members who have been publicized for playing their respective roles by DKP,it doesn't really matter if the supporting cast are not mentioned, but is it the truth ? Krish990 (talk) 19:26, 22 February 2020 (UTC)</Krish990>[reply]

It is not about majority users proving right or wrong. Even I have hundreds who disagrees it. They just ignore because of your adamancy and not that they support you. As mentioned, they are supporting cast. The starring section is meant for main cast and not for supporting. Supporting cast do play crucial roles but are properly distinguished between the leads. They could not simply become main for this reason. Either, despite main cast, there should be a subtitle named supporting cast/recurring cast which is the apt destination section where the supporting or recurring cast belong not the main. The main cast is just meant for Main Leads of the series and not supporting ones. First understand the difference between main and supporting. They can't be claimed as main leads even if they play Crucial role. Further Refer MOS:TV for proper structure Noobie anonymous (talk) 17:52, 4 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Also, The awards Arora and Priyam clearly specifies them as supporting cast.

Casting[edit]

The characters of the main cast are being removed and moved to recurring cast Characters of KAVERI PRIYAM & RITVIK ARORA should be included in main cast as soon as possible Harshi Kubirnal (talk) 14:46, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please Change Cast

From "Main

  • Rhea Sharma as Mishti Rajvansh: Karishma and Naman's daughter; Abir's wife (2019–present)
  • Shaheer Sheikh as Abir Rajvansh: Meenakshi and Mehul's son; Kunal's adoptive brother; Mishti's husband (2019–present)"

To "Main

  • Shaheer Sheikh as Abir Rajvansh: Meenakshi and Mehul's son; Kunal's adoptive brother; Mishti's husband (2019–present)
  • Rhea Sharma as Mishti Rajvansh: Karishma and Naman's daughter; Abir's wife (2019–present)
  • Ritvik Arora as Kunal Rajvansh: Parul and Mehul's son; Abir's adoptive brother; Kuhu's husband (2019–present)
  • Kaveri Priyam as Kuhu Rajvansh: Sneha and Shaurya's daughter; Varsha's adoptive daughter; Kunal's wife (2019–present)"

Reasons:

  • Ritvik Arora and Kaveri Priyam are main cast and not recurring cast.
  • The show revolves around 4 lead characters played by Shaheer Sheikh, Rhea Sharma, Ritvik Arora and Kaveri Priyam.
  • Abir and Mishti played by Shaheer Sheikh and Rhea Sharma are the main leads
  • Kunal and Kuhu played by Ritvik Arora and Kaveri Priyam are the parallel leads
  • Also, the list has been rearranged in the order of seniority. Shaheer being the senior most member of the cast should feature on top of the list

Unexplained cast reordering[edit]

@Unknownnreasonn: Can you please explain why you made these changes? I see the names Kuhu and Kunal listed in the Plot section multiple times, which makes it difficult to believe they are not part of the main cast, as you seem to be indicating. Further when I find articles like this it suggests to me that they were part of the main storyline. Can you explain, please? Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:58, 23 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Cyphoidbomb They were parallel MAIN Leads as they are Main Leads's Brother and Sister. I read the articles that you mentioned here but Kuhu and Kunal only Second Or Parallel Main Leads. So I don't mention them in Starring List. In the Plot Section there is also Meenakshi it seems to be in Main Cast but it doesn't. The actors who play this roles respectively are received Best Actor and Actress in Supporting Role. I hope you'll understand. Unknownnreasonn (talk) 11:05, 24 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Unknownnreasonn: In your own words, you described them as "Main". That suggests they belong in the Main cast. Main cast doesn't mean only the two most important cast members, it means anybody who was part of the primary cast, which is usually discernible from the show's credits. The show's "stars" might be only two people, I don't know, but "starring" and being part of the main cast are not always the same thing. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:49, 24 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I notice that this has been requested before on this talk page, so your understanding of who the main characters are may not be consistent with what other people think. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:51, 24 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bizarre changes[edit]

@AhilyaRai: Please stop submitting the same changes over and over like you did again here. Once you've been reverted, you need to open a discussion and seek consensus for the changes you've made. I'm sure others will take issue with the name changes you've made, but my issue focusses on why you think slashes like here:

  • Ritvik Arora/Avinash Mishra as Kunal Rajvansh: Parul and Mehul's son; Abir's half-brother; Kuhu's husband (2019–2020)/(2020–present)

are somehow better? They're ambiguous and confusing and I can give you a half dozen examples of Indian TV articles being polluted by this crap. Is someone really supposed to do mental gymnastics to figure out that Arora played a character from 2019-2020 and Mishra took on the role in 2020? And what exactly is problematic about using clear English "Avinash Mishra replaced Arora (2020–present)" to express this? Why are you erring on the side of confusing puzzles instead of clear English? You should also see WP:TVCAST, which doesn't encourage at all the use of these ridiculous slashes. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 21:54, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
