School or college?[edit]

Is Xavier Academy a secondary school or a "College of Graduate Studies", or do both exist as separate institutions? Not clear from this article. PamD 08:44, 15 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because...

I am authorised by the College to edit this page. I am a staff of this college and we are still learning about functions of wikipedia, so that we can inform the general public about our college. All the contents in this page comes from the Xavier Academy website. Hopefully, after playing around with the functions we can put detailed information in wikipedia to inform the users. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nischaya (talkcontribs) 20:11, 16 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

That is perhaps true, but copyrights are a serious matter. But this confirms the copyright issue. The school website is protected by copyright by default and by the remark at the bottom: "all rights reserved". The Banner talk 20:23, 16 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I have ripped out the copyvio stuff. (Maybe an Administrator would like to revdel it too?) I took speedy deletion off as we normally regard all secondary schools as notable.
I would like to remind the school and its authorised agents that they have a conflict of interests when they edit this article and the best thing that they can do to avoid damage to the reputation of the school is to stop trying to edit it into a promotional listing. That is not what Wikipedia is for and it is not unreasonable to expect a school to know what an encyclopaedia is for. --DanielRigal (talk) 22:13, 16 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
