Licensing changes[edit]

2.9.4.28 is now click-wrapped with GPLv3, suggesting a license change. If anyone knows which exact version brought this change, I would be grateful. --NetRolller 3D 14:42, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NOT a custom browser... links refer to an anonymity service.[edit]

I've checked the pages and information this article seems to refer to, but all it does is forward to the XeroBank service.

A number of problems with this article and the software it refers to:

  • Software described is not a browser, but a bundled (ancient) Firefox. Meaning it's miscategorized. The browser offered is an unmodified Firefox with a number of bundled add-ons, including a rebranding add-on (firesomething) to make it appear as if it's a different browser.
  • GPLed software released under a more restrictive license, that's not allowed, is it? The installer of the bundle states GPL, not a custom license like this article.
  • Xerobank links are broken or forward to a nondescript anonymity service, unrelated to a browser product.
  • Xerobank website referred to provides no compelling references, and in fact has a bogus "anonymity checker" that gives false results aimed at scaring people into buying their service: [1]

It seems this article is mislabeled and used solely to promote an unverified pay-for-anonymity service, not a custom browser. I'd say this is abuse of Wikipedia for commercial purposes.

It's full of misleading information.

This software has always been a shameless attempt to swindle money out of uninformed people. Steve Topletz is despised in the anonymity community. I can't believe it has been on Wikipedia this long. 213.29.115.6 (talk) 21:35, 31 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I removed all notes about TESLA (the license is now located at [2] ), but the "source code file" on the download page and the xB installer itself containing the GPL, although I couldn't find any real soruce code (only nsh files). mabdul 11:58, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, reading the old code and searching at google, I will try to add and include back the license issues xB had. This is somehow interesting and disturbing. Since August 2011 no changes in a wiki, the blog didn't get any update since ages, the software itself is outdated (2009) and no other announcement on any page; many 404 at xerobank.com, are they go in insolence? mabdul 12:43, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
