Land warrant[edit]

Soldiers, like William Ward, who served in the Virginia Continental Line for three years, were issued land warrants.

This caption caught my eye because there's no indication in the article that William Ward served in the Virginia Continental Line, which is different than the militia. A quick Google Book search confirmed that this land warrant was for a different William Ward (1757-1850) who did indeed serve in the Continental Army. Good pickup. Indeed it does seem to be a different William Ward. Thanks. Chromista (talk) 04:47, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
