Illustrations of Masonry[edit]

While the book was just mentioned in the Wp article, the 1804 edition added the list of the first "Grand Master of English Freemasons" appointed by king Henry VIII.Th Luminarium Encyclopdia Project, cited in more than 100 WP articles, adds the following text:

On 9 and 10 Sept. 1559 he was one of the mourners at the funeral services held at St.Paul's on the death of Henry II of France; he was also a mourner on the death of the emperor in 1564, when Grindal preached."

In the same years, untill 1567, Preston was the "Grand Master of English Freemasons", a link with the French Crown which is not so known as well as not so yet explained. At least, for a non specialistic public of readers.Philosopher81sp (talk) 10:50, 11 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

All of which took place a century and a half before Preston was born. Illustrations of Freemasonry, like everything else Preston wrote about Freemasonry, is self serving nonsense and has little or no relation to fact. Fiddlersmouth (talk) 23:49, 11 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
