William Bulkeley (sheriff)William Bulkeley (diarist) – I created the page under this name - in my haphazard wanderings through local history his diary made him notable, which other sheriffs of Anglesey or elsewhere generally aren't. The office itself doesn't confer obvious notability. The ODNB (https://www.oxforddnb.com/view/10.1093/ref:odnb/9780198614128.001.0001/odnb-9780198614128-e-62643) also describes him as "diarist", while noting his shrievalty. On Googling "William Bulkeley Brynddu diarist" I find nearly a thousand pages, most of which deal mainly with his diary; on googling "William Bulkeley Brynddu sheriff" I find what appears to be a subset of those pages, and again the main emphasis seems to be his diary not his office of sheriff. Why not just move it? In ictu oculi (talk) 14:33, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Because it was recently moved, to Sheriff, so there's at least one editor who felt that it should be Sheriff. I hope they'll change their mind. Civis Romanus (talk) 17:46, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No further comments in a fortnight. I propose to reverse the move in a couple of days. Civis Romanus (talk) 13:34, 6 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • This article was originally at William Bulkeley, Brynddu, which seems like improper disambiguation and that's probably why another editor moved it here. That said, I do not oppose changing the title to "diarist". BegbertBiggs (talk) 17:53, 6 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
