Fleshed this out but it's still very much a start. I retained the Thomas Mallon quote but it strikes me as mostly insubstantial praise. Building out a "Reception" section would require more sources and more specific information.

As this book discusses many historical people/events and is itself a work of history, I think it would make sense to create a "Content" section that summarizes this book with wikilinks to relevant pages. Geethree (talk)
