And now?[edit]

It'd be nice if we had some update on the last 20 years... I'll see what I can find out when my dad gets back from a business trip, as he's fascinated by her story and could suggest better sources than I might find via Google. Lawikitejana 23:07, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You should talk about Churchill and the press reports more[edit]

Probably spurious in fact, but an important change in her life. The British press insinuated that there was something going on between Wendy Reves and the (almost senescent) Churchill, which caused his wife, Clementine, to shun the Reves for the rest of the Churchills' lives. 47.20.163.109 (talk) 01:42, 26 July 2014 (UTC)captcrisis[reply]

I have to dig it out but in Jenkins's biography of Churchill IIRC, the issues were that (i) Clementine felt that Emery had made too much money in selling WSC's articles and (ii) that Clemtine did not get along with Wendy. On the first, Jenkins pointed out that Emery handled all expenses (including translations) himself and sold the articles worldwide. The feeling I got was that Emery worked hard for it and gave WSC a worldwide audience even before May 1940.

As for the second, I do not think Jenkins says it directly, but there was a bit of snobbery from Clementine. Clementine was from an old aristocratic family while Wendy was a bubbly Texan. 198.134.52.73 (talk) 21:25, 6 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
