Improving the list[edit]

I agree that we seriously need to improve the list of the different web-based slideshows.

  1. We can start by sorting them alphabetically.
  2. We can embed them in a specification comparison table with e.g. the following columns (columns should be sortable):
    • Name
    • Link (to host page)
    • Developer(s)
    • Release Date
    • License
    • Comments
  3. We can add a feature comparison table.

The sections need to be turned into list items like on List of build automation software. --OMouse (talk) 01:20, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I made such a comparison, see User:Dexxor/Comparison of web-based presentation software. After it gets moved to WP:ARTICLESPACE I suggest removing the list and adding a link to the comparison in See also. – Dexxor (talk) 17:25, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Spamdexing?[edit]

This page looks to me like a simple enormous list of spam links. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dominicanpapi82 (talkcontribs) 02:38, 31 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yeppers, it looks like we have to remove all external links except for the most popular ones? Also need to prefer internal links. --OMouse (talk) 02:11, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

External links modified[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Web-based slideshow. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

Not all slideshow tools support the listed features[edit]

The Features section contains for example “Separate slide notes for the speaker”. The thing is that some tools support this feature while others do not. I think the features section would have more value if it only listed unique features of web-based slideshows; Or maybe the advantages and disadvantages over other presentation software, e.g no need to install an extra program like PowerPoint, separation of markup and formatting, giving freedom to the users (allowing them to turn off CSS and JavaScript to search through the presentation), the problems with browser support… – Dexxor (talk) 17:55, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Merge[edit]

I support merging of this page to a page on Slideshows. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Phoe6 (talkcontribs) 15:08, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
