Notes on source of information[edit]

The information in this piece largely comes from the Dictionary of National Biography as mentioned in the sources. The other sources cited there are the sources used in the DNB article. The article has been re-written into more modern English. The DNB piece will now almost certainly be in the public domain anyway as it was written in 1894. Brookie :) - a will o' the wisp ! Referencing style[edit]

The DNB ref is now in the appropriate citation template. Making the referencing incompatible with the Harvard style. Sorry. I have to say that the Harvard style seems well over the top here, though. I suggest cutting back the referencing technology. The sources cited in the DNB are superfluous given that there is a direct link, at least.
