Why is it changed around so much? It seems like almost anytime I look at the page, it's one of two different ways: in two columns or in several columns. LEAVE it one way or the other, and if it's changed: I think that should be considered vandalism. It seems a bit pointless to have it change from one format to another so often. RobJ1981 08:31, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

I prefer the three column format like the previous SmackDown! games as it looks tidier that way. --Oakster (Talk) 12:07, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
Well, let's leave it at that then. If anyone changes, we should consider it vandalism. A format isn't a big deal, so there is absolutely no reason for it to be changed over and over and OVER again. RobJ1981 22:49, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Are the Roster Changes for Real?

Or is this more Fan riller killer hopfulness? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Cosmic Larva (talkcontribs) .

Yeah, this is the real roster (minus legends) confirmed by IGN. --Oakster (Talk) 10:02, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
Okay cool, thanks for clarifying. Cosmic Larva 19:24, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
No problem. --Oakster (Talk) 20:01, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

Does anyone knows if Kurt Angle will be featured in the game? He's now working for TNA. SOAD KoRn 18:48, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure he'll still be in the game. --Oakster (Talk) 19:46, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

I don't get it, why aren't Paul London and Brian Kendrick in the game? They're Smackdown tag team champs for goodness sake. Godaiger

Chris Jericho was still in WCW Mayhem even after jumping ship to the WWF, so I'm not surprised Angle is still in SD! vs. RAW 2007. Reminds me of the old days though.

Legends/Non-playables

Hey, I've just checked out the new legends list and I was wondering what shall we do with those confirmed as non-playables on IGN a few weeks back and those confirmed as legends today (i.e. Shane McMahon, Tazz, and Jerry Lawler, in particular the latter two)? --Oakster (Talk) 17:52, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

Shane, Tazz+Lawler shouldn't be in non-playables anymore... since legends are obviously playable. RobJ1981 18:53, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
Fair enough. >_> --Oakster (Talk) 20:59, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

Agreed, I'll Put Them In The Legends List Right Now —The preceding unsigned comment was added by MakeDamnSure (talkcontribs) .

They already are. --Oakster (Talk) 22:39, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

Tazz is Still Listed as Unplayable, Yet also As Playable under legends, Also, does anyone know how it will be formatted if a commentator who is playable as a legend (Jerry Lawler & Tazz) is wrestling in a Match? If The King is wrestling in a RAW Arena, will he also be doing commentary at the same time? ♪NOTORIOUSKIDCOIRE!!!♪ 15:31, 30 September 2006 (GMT)

Probably, that's how it was in Just Bring It, with Tazz calling his own matches. Unfortunately, it's far too late to replace him with JBL on commentary and also remove JBL as a playable character.VelvetKevorkian 23:12, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

New 4-Column Roster Format

Ok, I was thinking about this, what if we were to make a 4-column roster setting?

e.g.

Smackdown! Raw Legends Non-Playables Batista HHH Bam Bam Vince McMahon

etc...

What are you thinking? --MakeDamnSure 21:03, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

I was thinking of avoiding that kind of thing. If any, I'd prefer either an the end of each names or if possible, coloured bulleting. --Oakster (Talk) 22:38, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
If you would allow me to show you what I have in mind, all it would be is a 4 column table that would classify the 4 catagories of superstars in themMakeDamnSure 00:22, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

Removed people

Should there be mention of the fact that Kurt Angle and The Boogeyman are still planned to be in the game, despite their release from WWE? Romis 04:30, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

Not really, as it's been simply the case for a lot of wrestling games in the last ten years or so. --Oakster (Talk) 08:58, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
It's common freakin' sense that they'll still be in it. It's IMPOSSIBLE to have an up-to-date and current wrestling game at any time. VelvetKevorkian 23:07, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
No Boogeyman is still in WWE he never was released though but he left for 1 month due to a head injury when he broke one of the clocks on his head one time.

"Pimpin Hoez Like itz Mandatory" 21:54, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

It can be noted, but due to the nature of the industry, and ohow long it takes to make a game, this should be expected.-- Ben414

Roster edits

Please note that none of the wrestlers should be removed

Challenge Mode?

I have looked through this article and I was just wondering if there will be a Challenge Mode in this game? It hasn't been mentioned in the article so it may not be confirmed yet but I thought someone might know. arsenalwwerulz 10:54, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

According to GameSpot, there are achievements. Whether this has anything to do with Challenge mode or being a replacement of it is speculation at the moment. --Oakster (Talk) 12:38, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
OK, Thanks for your help. arsenalwwerulz 12:56, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
My apologies. I've just checked a few details about the Xbox 360 (as you can tell I don't have one, yet) and they have an achievements system involving scores and stuff. This seems to be a completely different thing to what I thought about challenge mode. --Oakster (Talk) 16:26, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

Article Picture

That isnt the front cover to the game, so since i dont know how to change the picture can someone else do it? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Don.-.J (talkcontribs) .

It is for the NTSC countries. I presume you're talking about the PAL cover with the white background. --Oakster (Talk) 17:32, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

Will Triple H and Shawn Michaels have a DX atire and a normal attire? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.182.91.221 (talkcontribs) .

they will have normal attire. I wanted the DX attire but atleast DX is in. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.182.91.221 (talkcontribs) .

Will there be alternate attires for any of the wrestlers.Example:Edge having an attire with the tights and an attire with the "Sex & Violence" t-shirt and jeans —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 216.229.196.98 (talkcontribs) .

GamingRing says that there's alternate attires for Triple H (suit attire already seen in an G4 video), JBL and Kane. However they did mention alternate attires for D-X, which was not seen in IGN's video making this source very shady. --Oakster (Talk) 12:58, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

Roster Change by THQ

Is there any proof that this roster change is from THQ of did someone just edited it. If so can you permantly lock the article from being edited? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.131.14.143 (talkcontribs) .

Just simple vandalism. I apologise for it. --Oakster (Talk) 12:58, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

Release Date

It has been confirmed by THQ that the release date for Australia is November 16th. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mattzta21 (talkcontribs) .

Have you got a source for it, preferably from an Australian games store website as it would also help with age ratings as well? --Oakster (Talk) 12:58, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

Yes

Release Date: 16 Nov 2006 http://gameswarehouse.com.au/longpage.asp?gameid=13391 Thats for xbox 360 —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mattzta21 (talkcontribs) .

Shame there's no rating there but thanks very much, I'll put it up now. And also don't forget to sign your name using ~~~~ after your posts --Oakster (Talk) 08:28, 22 October 20

Every single website that I go to seem to have the PSP version release date two weeks later than X360 and PS2, although on the other hand, GamingRing announced that it will be released November 14th, on ALL consoles. I don't know which one to believe. Which one should I believe, the sites, or GamingRing? Capeman34

If it help soothe you soul, wal-mart doesnt release it for another two weeks...i was disappointed I couldnt have it for my psp yet

yeah i edited it to say that it came out on in december for psp

Music

I can't find any credible sources that says Three Days Grace's Animal I Have Become will be in the game. Does anyone know of one? Mwutz 00:02, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

Animal I Have Become was featured on IGN Insider's No Mercy pay-per-view, more specifically during the matchup screen for the Rey/Chavo match. I would have put a reference for it but there's no real point refering to a paid subscription site. --Oakster (Talk) 22:49, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

Stables

I just saw the trailer for the game, and it showed DX doing their ring enterence, so I have added them as a playable stable. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Killswitch Engage (talkcontribs) .

How Come MNM isnt listed as a stable? They have the video and everything

169.244.254.17 15:27, 26 October 2006 (UTC)Jeff

This is a good point,I'll add them if they haven't been added already.

Cosmic Larva 21:27, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

MNM is not a stable, it is just Nitro and Melina. Joey Mercury is not a part of MNM anymore.

ECW confirmed in game

This interview does confirm the One Night Stand Arena will be unlockable and that some "Extremists" will be in the game but it does not mention if it means the ones already given out(RVD, Big Show, Holly) or if there are more (such as The Sandman, Sabu, etc). The interview does not mention whether they will be in as non-playables or unlockables but I am assuming the former [1]. Zdunne 20:13, 26 October 2006 (UTC).

I'm sure it'll probabily refer to RVD, Big Show, Angle, etc. being involved in an ECW storyline on Season Mode (like last year) as numerous gaming sites such as IGN and GamingRing have said there's no ECW unlockables, etc. --Oakster (Talk) 06:53, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

any information about Championship mode in the game? 202.148.19.28 15:32, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Trish stratus last apperance on WWE Game

This is true cause she retired before the game is made and i think this will be her last WWE Game apperance she wont apper in smackdown vs raw 2008

Not necessarily. The WWE can put her in with her permission, and she is on good terms with the WWE. They could also put her in as a legend, or she could come out of retirement. Also, remember to sign your comments with 4 ~'s. Mwutz 00:42, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Match Types

I've heard on caws.ws that the Fulfill Your Fantasy match was certainly going to be included in WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw 2007 and that it was only a rumor. Capeman34

The match is not in according to this video. --Oakster (Talk) 20:28, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

The article says this is the first game since Shut Your Mouth, but SYM did not have a diva match. It's HCTP not SYM. Levodevo 21:39, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

The article is trying to say this is the first game since SYM (which didn't have a diva match) to not have a diva match. --Oakster (Talk) 06:54, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

Oh...lol very sorry didnt realize that Levodevo 22:31, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

Is it true that the "I Quit" match will be included in SmackDown! vs. Raw 2007, as shown on Wikipedia? Capeman34

Nope, probabily vandalism as I can't see it anymore. --Oakster (Talk) 06:54, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

Legends/Unlockables

Should we separate the legends from unlockables, like they do on the official website? [2]Mwutz 01:13, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

On the game, Tazz, Jerry Lawler, and Shane O'Mac are legends because it show the legends background behind their picture

Title Belts

Who will be the default holder for the million dollar title and the nWo/WCw World Haevyweight title and will it have nWo in black or red on the tile in the game

On IGN, i saw dusty rhodes with the million dollar championship and at the store i saw a million dollar belt with a figure which was supposed to be TED DIBIASE cuz it said but then it was Ric Flair! 24.253.28.60 04:30, 10 December 2006 (UTC) DEADMEN DO AUTOGRAPHS BUT TELL NO REFUNDS!

My guess is that hulk hogan will have the nwo version of the WCW Worldheavyweight Championship I highly doubt the nwo will be in red so that leaves only black i'll find out for sure and let you know tommorrow because i am gettin it today

The NWO Heavyweight Title isn't a Title, Its a alternate design for the Heavyweight Title, Like the Spinner desighn for the WWE Title. NOTORIOUSKIDCOIRE♪14th November 21:24 GMT

NWO version of the belt is an alternate design, not a belt by itself.

Commentry Errors

When a finish move occurs in some cases the commetator will say "Stone Cold Stunner, Stone Cold Stunner" Craig Map 09:40, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

The Commentators will often Comment on wrestlers not even involved with the current match, usually mentioning the Big Show and Undertaker.

Actually that happens when you play it for a long time and the CPU starts to go mad because it is going back to its history which only occurs in PS2 24.253.28.60 04:26, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

"Titles and belts"

for all the americans that actually have the game can you freeplay for the the titles, ie. the world heavyweight championship and also if so who are the current holders. --Rkoed 01:00, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

you have to unlock the wwe championship and world heavyweight chmapionship.

you can only fight for the intercontinental championship, united states championship, etc.

Editing

What's with all the editing? I make a section for Trivia and Mistakes and they keep getting deleted for reasons that are just stupid.

First time it got deleted, the guy who deleted it said that there was "no need for it". There's every need for it! Those are some intresting facts that me and other people have pointed out and just like the previous SmackDown games, this game's Wikipedia page deserves to have a section for trivia and maybe mistakes if there are alot of them.--User:Cool King 01:00, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

I'm all for a trivia section. The previous one have had horrible grammar. Mwutz 22:40, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Maybe we could have the mistakes in the Trivia section 'cause those seem intersting enough.Freebird Jackson 00:40, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

What I said was that there is a need for that section before the game was released to a general audience.

Also, your "mistakes", Cool King, were for the most part not mistakes at all. Snitsky and Candice being heels was not a mistake.

MDowdal 23:35, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

These first few bits are unremarkable trivia - you could also say it's the first time since Here Comes the Pain not to have Charlie Haas, etc.

  • Trevor Murdoch doesn't have his Taz tattoo on his right arm due to copyright laws.
  • The only five superstars to have appeared in all of the SmackDown games as playable characters to date are Edge, Kane, The Rock, Triple H and The Undertaker.
    • Noted on the main SmackDown! game series page.

I integrated these two bits into the soundtrack section.

See Wikipedia:Trivia for more information. --Jtalledo (talk) 19:14, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

I think that their should be a trivia and mistakes section24.76.239.118 23:56, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Glitches

Every time I try to add the Glitches section, a seemingly THQ-biased editor deletes it. Everyone who's played this game knows it is filled with glitches, and it's honestly the most glitch-filled game I've ever played.

The glitches don't make it bad, but they are very apparent and it seems odd not to have them mentioned in this article. As for providing a source (aside from user reviews) I have no idea why, but most of the mainstream reviews don't mention the glitches, but I assume they reviewed late beta copies and thought the problems would be ironed out by release time. But rest assured, I will keep looking for a solid source to satisfy a certain editor who insists on over-policing this article, and rendering it almost useless. But seriously, I mean, so long as it's tagged that it needs a source, I don't see why you have a problem with this information being posted, --CJ 09:23, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

I re-added the information, with a good source. --CJ 10:54, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

I re-added it, yet again. The person who removed it said a list of glitches isn't needed, yet they are present on many videogame articles, including MK: Shaolin Monks --CJ 10:32, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Brother I'm with you on the glitches. They are annoying. Then again so are all the loading screens. Holla!

Legends

Shouldn't it be noted that all legends aside from Eddie Guerrero need to be unlocked? --205.151.6.33 18:36, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

On a related note, shouldn't Tazz, Lawler and Shane also be in the Legends section of the article? Regardless of the fact that they are still active on WWE television and the fact that Shane's classification as a Legend is questionable, they're all classified as Legends in the game. --Jtalledo (talk) 17:35, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

They were initially separated because that's the way they are on the official website [3]. They aren't separated in the game, but they are cheaper to purchase than the other legends. So, if we do integrate them back with the other legends, someone should make a note or something. Mwutz 19:12, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

Ugh. No wonder. I don't look at websites that are all Flash. --Jtalledo (talk) 19:50, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

Due to recent vandalism, I think we should re-protect this article. Mwutz 17:45, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
