Żołądkowa gorzkaWódka Żołądkowa Gorzka — Per WP:MOS-TM. This is a brand name product whose full name (appearing on bottles) is Wódka Żołądkowa Gorzka. It could possibly be argued that "Wódka" is not part of the brand name since it just meads "vodka", but at the very least the title of the article should be capitalized to Żołądkowa Gorzka, since it is a proper name. -Krasnoludek (talk) 08:46, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Seems reasonable to me, barring evidence that this is well-known in English under the shorter name. Knepflerle (talk) 15:27, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Eases stomach digestion[edit]

I myself have heard the rumor that Żołądkowa Gorzka "eases stomach digestion" as an explanation for the name ("Żołądkowa" is "stomach" as an benefactive adjective, so that the title translates as "bitter vodka for the stomach"). Does anyone have legitimate sources claiming the vodka has some "healing" qualities? I don't think the company itself even makes this claim, and I certainly haven't come across medical evidence attesting to such qualities. Since making medical claims of healing is a legal issue, this should be explored and justified beyond the secondhand rumors. I just realized there's a second possible referent for the "it" in "it eases stomach digestion". "It" could instead refer to Trisz Divinis. But if that is the indeed referent, then this seems like extraneous information to include in an article on a different vodka. -Krasnoludek (talk) 14:40, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's only anecdotal evidence, but Polish relatives told me that Żołądkowa is simply the local way of saying it's a digestif, that is a liqueur to drink after meals. It doesn't imply that it has any actual digestive properties. -Luiswulf (talk) 13:15, 19 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Trisz Divinis[edit]

An editor claims that Wódka Żołądkowa Gorzka is a successor of Trisz Divinis, citing works by Melchior Wańkowicz. As far as I could find, Wańkowicz' Tędy i Owędy describes Trisz Divinis, but does not make any direct connection to Wódka Żołądkowa Gorzka and this is his only work describing Trisz Divinis. The claim to succession seems to only be based upon them both being herb and fruit vodkas. This seems like a tenuous connection, considering there are many other liqueurs and vodkas in Europe and Poland in particular (see the traditional herbal liqueurs of mountainous south of Poland). I am going to change the wording to make it clearer that this is not a direct succession of the Trisz Divinis recipe, but rather a continuation of the tradition of herbal vodkas. If evidence is provided to the contrary, I will happily revert to the more direct wording. -Krasnoludek (talk) 17:15, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Recommended[edit]

I'm a hearty drinker, and I recommend this one to anyone who likes vodka. It's probably the best vodka I've ever tasted! lasombra bg (talk) 07:09, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
