Opening date of the Yeshiva[edit]

Instead of engaging other editor in an editing war about the opening date I will explain my reasoning. YIVO has a copy of a fundraising letter quoted in the book Avi Hayeshivos as well, that is dated 1803 that refers to the new Yeshiva, however it is clear it was already operational at that time. However it isn't clear when it did open from that letter, rather that it was already open. The book Avi Hayeshivos has a letter by the Netziv that refers to the Yeshiva being over 90 years old , and uses that to prove that it was that the opening date at least as early as 1795. The academic consensus is that the yeshiva was founded around 1803. The source previously cited for this start date (YIVO Encyclopedia [1]) is reliable and trusted. Here are some more: Encyclopedia Britannica, Encyclopaedia Judaica, the current yeshiva's website, any of these papers on JSTOR, etc.

I'm unable to access the Otzar link, but Avi ha-Yeshivot does not appear to be a work of academic scholarship. The letter you shared from YIVO does not appear to contain any information suggesting a 1795 start date.

Fistly the structural work I messed up was an accident and I couldn't figure out how to repair it, my apologies. Here is the link to the text letter, it is quoted in Mirsky's book in it's entirety ^[2] This I believe is the source for the 1803 date, it definitely was open already by 1803. Please read the entire letter, part of what he is asking for is financial assistance to expand what seemingly an already existing small Yeshiva according to Mirsky. In addition your second source refers to when the building was built not when the Yeshiva was opened. Avi hayeshivos says clearly that the building was finished in 1806 as clearly can be seen on the façade of the building in a close up shot of the façade, all the way on top. In order to access the link to Avi HaYeshivos you need a free account from Otzar hachochma, and you can for free to accesses the first 150 pages of the book, to be clear this isn't my research, it is the research of Dov Eliach in his book, he proves this not me, (it seems to me if I understood you correctly, that you thought it was my research). I assume you don't mean academic as in published by a professor, but let me know, I assume you mean that it is an authoritative, detailed and heavily sourced work. I can assure it is, but definitely don't trust me. Please check it out for yourself, a definite recommended read for a comprehensive overview of R' Chaim Volozhiner regardless what the article will say.
