I think we may need to drop the " ' " in Violette's from the everywhere in the article. Although the C&O Canal Trust sometimes has the " ' ", the National Park System does not. It would be good to hear your opinion on this. TwoScars (talk) 16:25, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • "The canal has several types of locks," - should this be "had" instead, since this section is about the construction of the canal? Especially if not all of the locks are still extant, I would recommend a different wording

  • In the background section, I think you could do a better job at clarifying that lock 23 was a lift lock

  • "On June 27, 1863, 5,000 cavalry troops under the command of Confederate General Jeb Stuart crossed the Potomac River near Lock 24" link J. E. B. Stuart. Also, "General" was a formal rank in the CS army, and Stuart's rank was actually two rungs lower at Major General (the reference to Lee as "General" later is fine, as that was his formal rank)

I don't believe so. Passing. Gog the Mild - I think this would have a decent chance at FAC, although I do think that reviewers better than prose with me would probably suggest phrasing/wording improvements in a number of places. 14:15, 31 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
