Figure[edit]

I find a problem with the following segment:

"Violet's body is disproportionate compared to her head. This has led some to say that she appears (and even is) anorexic."

First of all, because this anexoria opinion isn't at all common, an annotation would be needed, ideally from a major source. Second of all, according to the animators at Pixar, the disproportionate figures of all the characters are intentional, as they are stylized figures to fit the comic book form. In no way do they suggest anorexia. Otherwise, we would make such claims about many other cartoons with purposely disproportionate figures.

I totally agree. "This has led some to say" are classic weasel words, and the author of the statement clearly doesn't understand the way the movie was animated. I deleted it. —Edward Tremel 22:32, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Either way, her height (63") and weight (75 Lbs.) Adds up to her BMI, 15.4. Healthy is 18.5-25.

Trivia[edit]

The nature of Violet's powers is the reason that Violet's skintight unitard was a tricky Super-Suit for E to fabricate, but nowhere near the potential challenge of designing a more advanced Super-Suit for Jack-Jack, of course.

I've removed this from the trivia selection. While Edna does state that Violet's suit was tricky to make, she doesn't make any mention of this this with Jack-Jack's. While describing Jack-Jack's she states that she "just covered the basics", so I always thought that all the Super-Suits she had made, contains all those basic features. My reasoning for this is that both, Violet and Dash are shot at several times during the movie and I find it hard to believe that not a single bullet hit. Ðra

Mirage an ally?[edit]

In Violet's infobox under "affiliations" it lists Mirage as an "ally", despite the fact that she's listed under "villains" in the Characters box at the bottom of the page. I realize that Mirage switches sides halfway through the movie, but we should list her as either consistantly a villain or consistantly an ally of the Incredibles to avoid confusion. So I think this reference should be either deleted or changed to a negative "affiliation" (whatever is the policy, I'm not sure). --Edward Tremel 01:14, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

She's not an ally. She betrays Syndrome at two points in the movie by helping the Incredibles, but that's hardly sufficient to qualify as an ally; she was, after all, complicit in the murders of numerous other supers. I was actually rather disappointed that her arc was left dangling and never resolved in the film -- she should have been arrested and tried, minimally. Powers ^T 16:40, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Technically-Minded?[edit]

While not a typical comic book scientist, Violet appears to be the most technically-minded of her family -- she's able to puzzle out the controls for Syndrome's detention area quickly enough, and knows how to reprogram a rocket with coordinates from a previous launch and also figure out Syndrome's plans.

This strikes me as both inaccurate and misleading. "Puzzle out the controls"? She pressed the biggest, most prominent button on the console. As for the rocket bit, she figured what they needed to do, but it wasn't Violet doing the reprogramming. Mirage was the one who helped them set up the rocket launch. This shows that Violet is smart, certainly; a trait inherited from her parents. Both are intelligent, experienced professionals capable of tactical thinking. Helen is even a pilot, a highly specialized skill that requires knowledge of complicated electronics. So I don't really see how being a clever girl makes Violet "the most technically-minded of her family." For the sake of simplicity, I'm removing this and bumping the mention of Violet's hobbies to Personality. -- Son Goharotto (talk) 21:36, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Powers - The force fields[edit]

However, they can falter when enough force is applied to them, as when the Omnidroid managed to break it by pummeling it repeatedly at the end of the film.

This is totally untrue. If you watch closely, you will see that the does not break from the force of the Omnidroid. The shield is dropped after contact with the shield hitting her (Violet) in the head, rendering her unconscious.

The force field is pushed into the ground below her (by the Omnidroid). She is suspended in mid air momentary, allowing her head to strike the top of the field (her head is knocked to the side). She then falls to the ground unconscious and her shield/field falls.
