According to this general source G. Roscher (2007). "Vinyl Esters". Ullmann's Encyclopedia of Chemical Technology. Weinheim: Wiley-VCH. doi:10.1002/14356007.a27_419., vinyl esters are compounds of the type CH₂=CHO₂CR, they are esters of vinyl alcohol. The big one is vinyl acetate, but vinyl laurate and vinyl propionate are also commercialized. On the other hand the term "vinyl ester" is jargon, used to describe acrylate esters obtained from epoxides of bisphenol A diglycidyl ether as described in the present article. The level of activity on these acrylate esters is large.
