ö or ø[edit]

ö is probably a Germanization of ø. On the other hand, I suspect the Danish name Viggo is likely to be correct, & the forms Vincent, Victor & Vilhelm given in various sources guesses or attempted translations. Peter jackson 10:29, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

His grave stone clearly uses the Danish "ø". https://www.gravsted.dk/person.php?navn=vfausboell The Danes write about him with the Danish "ø". http://runeberg.org/salmonsen/2/7/0848.html However, the Danish alphabet was not standardized until (or was last standardized in) 1948 (forty years after Viggo passed away).
