Viện[edit]

"Viện" is a classifier indicating that the noun being indicated is an institution, so it can be treated like an article in English. However, "bảo tàng" by itself means "to preserve", so while it can be understood that a museum is meant, it looks like a case of lazy writing (a recent phenomenon in Vietnamese). It can be seen as poorly worded by purists (using verbs as nouns), but appears to be standard in modern Vietnam. DHN 06:23, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
