Ok, fine by me. Before I started to change this article it mentioned a theory that I had not even heard of. Since the only mentioned source was a right wing provincialist writer, infamous for his idea that the most wellknown export commodity from Mälardalen were warriors, I assume that the theory stems from him. It is difficult to understand why an article on wikipedia should refer only to such a point of view. When it comes to thanes they have been discussed by more than one historian and archaeologist, and the conclusion is that thanes somehow are connected to Danish power. The article should naturally reflect this, and not only that of Mats G Larsson. (If he now is guilty of the theory that connects thanes with some Uppsalaking.) For your information - Mats G Larsson's works are seen as rubbish by many historians.

I should add also that Löfving's work is his thesis. There is years of thought behind it. I am quite certain that any opposite theory is something one can cough up during a coffee break. I have read one attempt at refuting Löfving's ideas. Incidentally that attempt was made by Mats G Larsson - and what a pitiful attempt it was. Löfving showed a very clear pattern when it comes to thanes, and the best Larsson could come up with was that OTHER patterns do not show the same thing. Laughable really. That attempt can be found in an old issue of populär historia.

Your removal of Larsson's theory is based on which WP policy?--Berig (talk) 16:19, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

On the same policy that have made you remove stuff that you felt belong to something called västgötaskola. It belongs to some västgötaskola so I removed it. We're comrades in arms ;) Or... oh, maybe there is no such policy. Tell you what, tell me where I can read about it and I'll make a comparison and see what I can do. Is it the book mentioned in the sources? /Marcus 85.224.198.68 (talk) 00:46, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"...a right wing provincialist writer ..." – is this Swedish version of wikipedia made by left wingers and communists, and do the founder of wikipedia know, that politic plays that role for you? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.57.198.131 (talk) 13:06, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
