Bengali Script[edit]

As Va ceased to exist on the road to the Bengali script, apparently merging with Ba, how much mention should we have of the Bengali script here? My feeling is that all we need is a stub referring to the article for Ba under the heading of 'Bengali Ba'. The information for the 'Odia' script is already to be found under Ba. An alternative to a stub under Ba would be to mention the mergers in the lead to the comparison chart. Pinging Vanisaac.

Just possibly, a Meetei র (RA (sic)) and Assamese ৱ (U+09F1 RA WITH LOWER DIAGONAL) merit inclusion here rather than under Ba as survivals of a separate Va, as preservations of a distinction rather than as restorations of the distinction. --RichardW57 (talk) 23:11, 7 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Vanisaac: Some useful notes for assembling a history are http://unicode.org/L2/L2011/11350-friends-of-assam-letter.pdf and wikt:র#Assamese, which is a recorded as a variant of Wo, not of Ro. --RichardW57m (talk) 12:37, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
