merge[edit]

I propose merging the verifiable content of article Digger (webcomic) to Ursula Vernon under subsection webcomics, followed by a redirect from Digger (webcomic) to the new section. I propose pruning the content to a small paragraph with only claims supported by third party sources. Most of the verifiable content is already here, but a few external links could also be merged over.

Please see Talk:2007 Web Cartoonists' Choice Awards#Merge for related discussion.

Please note that Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Digger (webcomic) is currently discussing Digger (webcomic). -84user (talk) 08:50, 7 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merged just one external link from Digger (webcomic) into an inline citation to Ursula Vernon#Webcomics. I then redirected the whole article to Ursula Vernon#Webcomics. If anyone can see any other content worth merging, here is the revision before my redirect. -84user (talk) 16:17, 6 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Now that the collected Digger has won both the Hugo Award for Best Graphic Story and the Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Adult Literature, I think it should probably be split back out into its own article again. DS (talk) 05:01, 18 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"best known for"[edit]

It may be time to mention A Wizard's Guide to Defensive Baking here instead of Digger, going by number of awards won. The novel definitely needs its own article.

Defensive Baking is weird in that it has very few reviews ([1], [2] were all I could find) despite the large number of awards. So I don't think it's reached "best known for" status yet. I do think the lead should be expanded to mention Jackalope Wives, which was reviewed quite widely. Olivaw-Daneel (talk) 07:35, 21 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Website[edit]

I removed the redwombatstudio.com link, apparently not for the first time. When I clicked the link, my browser was led through a series of redirects to a site which was clearly not about Ursula Vernon and looked like it was trying to entice me to download malware. This does *not* appear to be a Wikipedia vandalism issue; the same happens when I go to ursulavernon.com. The most likely explanation in my mind is that both domains are (or were) legit and resolve to the same place, and there is an issue with the hosting or DNS resolution; I would expect a similar situation if the domain registration expired and was poached by shady opportunists. I'd be happy to see the situation resolved and the link replaced, but for the time being it seems worth protecting Wikipedia users from being sent there when they're expecting an author website. --Pjmorse (talk) 16:41, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I do not get those redirects. Both sites load fine for me (ursulavernon.com redirects directly to redwombatstudio.com). Please try with different devices and/or browsers to see if it's a problem on your end. I'll hold off on re-adding the url to the article until you or others can report back. Digger Unearthed[edit]

See the article on Digger (webcomic) for more information. Digger is now back in print. Pifvyubjwm (talk) 02:47, 2 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
