Request for Updates[edit]

Hello,

Would it be possible to get some updates made to this page? e work with Urgent.ly and understand that any attempt to contribute accurate information to our own page will be taken down. In lieu of wasted efforts, I would like to request that a volunteer or whoever manages updates review some of the information below in order to update the information about Urgent.ly.

We understand that Wikipedia is not for promotion of Urgent.ly, so please feel free to redact or rephrase for objectivity. We are requesting to add this information because the current page coverage of nothing other than our mobile application is not reflective of the nature of our business. Our company's product is not an app, it's a platform. As an overview, we don't simply help those who download the app, we meet our customers (and the customers of businesses we're partnered with) in their existing channels, allowing service requests through apps, software platforms, via phone calls, and more.

In fact, even in terms of simply direct-to-consumer operations, many more customers (>90% of our consumer business so far this month) receive roadside help directly through our website. This is quicker and easier for the user, as it does not require a download or registration. We want to make sure that information about the easiest options for requesting service are readily available to potential customers. (In fact, this is counter-intuitive to a marketing agenda for two reasons: 1. We do not collect email addresses when customers request service on the site, as we do in the app, so we cannot leverage email marketing with these customers. 2. The app would be generally considered to increase the likelihood of repeat customers, and would also allow us to market to the user with push notifications. To be fully transparent, a benefit to us here is to provide faster service to the user so they have a better experience overall. The other benefit to us could come from some potential for increased conversion, which is widely understood to be connected to less steps to conversion, since there's no pre-registration on the site.) But still, 90% of customers are already using the site, so we want to ensure people aren't being mislead about Urgent.ly and the way it works on this page.

However, most of the roadside services we perform are actually for corporate partners and their customers, as well as those who license our platform.

If the community is hellbent on not including anything "promotional" we'd truly appreciate it if we could simply get the Mobile App section removed altogether. It would be great to have some sort of history added if possible as well. If you're interested in digesting news sources yourselves to make updates, links to news about Urgent.ly can be found at www.geturgently.com/news.

I understand if you're uninterested in using Urgent.ly-provided language but we'd like to get this page to a point where it better reflects the concept of what we do.

Industry: Roadside-as-a-Service, Automotive Technology, Software and Platform Providers, Roadside Assistance and Collision Solutions Employees: 190+ Services: You could look at this as a high-level overview of our services which is like Roadside As A Service, Roadside Assistance and Towing, and Software/Platform Services; or specifically within RA&T we provide: Jump Start, Tire Change, Fuel Delivery, Lockout Service, Key Replacement, Winching, and Towing. (These services are available directly through Urgent.ly across the US & Puerto Rico. Internationally, we license our platform to other companies who may provide their own selection of services.)

Ideally we'd like to see a section on here for each of our high level services: 1. Roadside As A Service, where our platform and service provider network the roadside assistance programs of other brands 2. Platform Services, in which other companies leverage our platform to provide a similar service and experience that we do, typically in order to digitize their roadside assistance program. 3. Direct to consumer services, where we provide roadside assistance (Jump Start, Tire Change, Fuel Delivery, Lockout Service, Key Replacement, Winching, and Towing) directly to customers.

A brief history section would be nice as well. Some of the stuff currently in the Mobile App section is not related to the app at all, and is actually part of our history of providing Roadside As A Service. Of course there's more to the history of Urgent.ly thank below, but this is what news sources have covered.

Urgent.ly was founded in May of 2013. The service launched in April of 2014, initially just servicing Washington, DC and the surrounding areas. The free iOS app was launched in 2014.[1] Later that year, the service was expanded nationally and is now available across all 50 states as well as Washington, DC and Puerto Rico. Urgent.ly partnered with MapQuest in November 2014.[2] The app was chosen to be added to the AT&T Drive platform for connected cars.[1][2] In February of 2017, Washington, DC-based media company DC Inno reported Urgent.ly’s partnership with carmaker Mercedes-Benz.[3][4] On December 6, 2017, CCC Information Services, Inc. announced Urgent.ly as an addition to the CCC Network.[5] On January 23, 2018, Urgent.ly announced integration with Towbook, a provider of cloud-based towing software for roadside assistance companies.[6] On April 3, 2018, Uber announced Urgent.ly as a partner on the Uber-branded Visa Debit Card for Uber drivers. Urgent.ly roadside assistance is available to all Uber drivers for a monthly fee, and cardholders receive a discount.[7][8]
