1913 version[edit]

Need to incorporate history of the badge going back to the 1913 version. See Obsolete badges of the United States military and File:USA_-_Aviator_Wings_-_1913.png. — MrDolomite • Talk 05:35, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It already exists, and with far greater accuracy than this article, in U.S. Air Force Aeronautical Ratings.--Reedmalloy (talk) 08:35, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"SVG is not an accurate depiction of what that badge looked like"[edit]

@McChizzle: with regarding to your comments in the edit summary here, did you mean the vectorization from PNG to SVG is inaccurate, or the PNG image was inaccurate to begin with? And in either case, how might we make the SVG more accurate? (talk) 02:27, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Note the star and wreath and how it is placed on top of the shield. The SVG depicts the wrong means by which that command device is incorporated onto that rating badge.--McChizzle (talk) 22:45, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@McChizzle: English is not my primary language, so let me make sure I understand you. Are you suggesting that the star and the wreath are connected to the shield in the wrong way? I am looking at this image here. It appears that I can just enlarge the "star + wreath" combination, such that the combination is (1) touching the wings and (2) placed behind the shield. -- (talk) 21:07, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes --McChizzle (talk) 01:10, 26 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have updated the SVG graphics accordingly. (talk) 22:18, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
