List of Captains

I agree that the list of captains is out of place in the article. While there may be other ship articles that include information like this, I'm not aware of any. Maybe such a list belongs on, or is already on, the ship's alumni web site, to which I've added an external link. Lou Sander (talk) 12:14, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

Decommissioning date

According to American Carriers: Pre-war to Present, the ship was decommissioned on 30 September and struck the following day (see page 312). The USN supports this assertion here, while here the Navy confusingly says she was stricken on 30 September and decommissioned on 1 October (in all likelihood they reversed the dates - you don't strike the ship from the register before you decommission it).
