BOMBSHELL New York Times article in the last day exposing TrueTheVote[edit]

Headline: The New York Times ‘2000 Mules’ Repackages Trump’s Election Lies[1]

(excerpts)"A new documentary from Trump allies makes the latest case the election was stolen, but the group behind the claim has been assailed even by some on the hard right. They are embroiled in litigation with True the Vote’s largest donor, and Ms. Engelbrecht has feuded with Cleta Mitchell, a leading Trump ally and elections lawyer. John Fund, a prominent conservative journalist who was once a booster of Ms. Engelbrecht, has implored donors to shun her, according to videotape provided to The New York Times by Documented, a nonprofit news site."

(excerpts)"Mr. Phillips is also an adviser to Get Georgia Right, a political action committee that received $500,000 from Mr. Trump’s Save America PAC this past March 25, the day after Mr. Phillips and Ms. Engelbrecht advanced their 2020 vote-fraud theories to a legislative committee in Wisconsin."

(excerpts) "What’s more, the film claims, but never shows in its footage, that individual “mules” stuffed drop box after drop box."

(excerpts) "Those claims are purportedly backed up by tracking cellphone data, but the film’s methods of analysis have been pilloried in numerous fact-checks. (True the Vote declined to offer tangible proof...)"

(SMOKING GUN of an excerpt)"The group has not presented any evidence that the ballots themselves — as opposed to their delivery — were improper. “I want to make very clear that we’re not suggesting that the ballots that were cast were illegal ballots. What we’re saying is that the process was abused,” Ms. Engelbrecht said in Wisconsin. In an interview, she backtracked, but when asked to provide evidence of improper votes, she only pointed to previous accusations unrelated to the 2020 general election."

(excerpts) "The suit alleges Ms. Engelbrecht and Mr. Phillips were in a romantic relationship and violated Texas law related to conflicts of interest, since True the Vote directed a “substantial portion” of Mr. Eshelman’s funds to OpSec."

(excerpts) "But True the Vote’s efforts have prompted little action from law enforcement. Last year, after True the Vote circulated its research in Georgia, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said the cell data turned over, which tracked people to within 100 feet, was insufficient to act on."

And there is MUCH more in the article, which just dropped in the last 24 hours. We should as much of it as possible. Plenty of good stuff here to help with the article. 2601:282:8100:D3E0:5059:115F:4E0C:4E2B (talk) 18:48, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I think it is relevant that a former employee of True the Vote left the organization to go work for AG Brnovich leading the new Arizona Election Integrity unit. They investigated the school board member vote harvesting, had everything they needed to prosecute, but decided to sit on it until the 2000 Mules movie came out and they could prosecute one former school board member for harvesting four ballots to prove they were right. I am not a seasoned enough editor to be permitted to add this to the content.

Disproven Election information[edit]

Calling the information in the 200 Mules Movie disproven in incorrect. Your editors are citing biased information about the movie and True the Vote. The movie cites factual cell phone data that is accurate up to 10 feet. The FBI agrees, using the exact same data to identify people present at the Capitol on January 6th. Fact checkers have actually never addressed any of the concerns cited in the movie, choosing to address “claims” not made in the movie. The only thing lacking is an actual investigation by the FBI, who possesses the information found by True the Vote. None of the claims by True the Vote or the movie have been investigated by states or the FBI. 69.131.202.141 (talk) 02:51, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Why does this

[Associated Press]] (AP) found the film was "based on faulty assumptions, anonymous accounts and improper analysis of cellphone location data"

get to be part of this wikipedia page? Just because the "AP" wrote it? 173.255.109.226 (talk) 15:21, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. – Jonesey95 (talk) 16:54, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Add "alleged" in the infobox that says the purpose is "preventing voter fraud", as that is the correct scholarhistoric classification of it. 109.14.86.181 (talk) 01:03, 1 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now: Voter fraud was never not a real thing. I don't mean this in a political way, but the organization's stated objective is to prevent voter fraud. It is only in their findings where the term "alleged" can be applied, if applicable. Reading the article shows the veracity of the organization's claims. TGHL ↗ 🍁 21:02, 1 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Founding Member Alan D Vera[edit]

These articles plus recent Texas House and Senate resolutions all show that Mr. Vera was one of the founding members of True the Vote.

It would be worth adding these references in the early 2010 history as there were others involved in its founding beyond Catherine Engelbrecht:

July 2023: State of Georgia sued True the Vote[edit]

In July 2023 the Georgia State Elections Board filed suit against True the Vote, asking a judge to enforce the subpoenas to which the group had failed to fully respond.

The state had sued True the Vote in April 2022. The subpoenas sought documents, recordings, and names of people and organizations allegedly connected to ballot harvesting.
