LebRON James is the next Michel Jordan

Really? I don't recall Jordan ever taking a night off, much less a year. Anyway, why is the Larry Bird triple-double comment on this page? It seems a little out of place.

I agree with your assessment of the Bird entry. It was entered on February 27 by user 71.80.121.27 and I've gone ahead and removed it. Ideally, this sort of entry belongs on the Larry Bird page, and that's apparently where it was pulled from. Myasuda 22:59, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why[edit]

Why is it called a triple-double and not just a triple?

Double-double (10 pts, 10 assists), two double digits in two categories...triple double, 10 pts, 10 assists, 10 rebounds, three double digits...triple-double Zodiiak 04:41, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notes[edit]

Who made up this list of notable TD getters and why are they notable? Kidd's notable 'cause he has the third most all time and has 11 so far this season. KG has like 4 career TDs. Sure, maybe he's notable, but he's not notable as a guy who gets triple-doubles.

No clue, I'm removing them..seems like fan notes Zodiiak 21:16, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jason Kidd and Magic Johnson[edit]

There's something on Jason Kidd's page about triple-doubles not on here... not sure how reliable it is. If any one knows this is true and thinks it's good to put on here, it might be good to do.

"One of only two players in NBA history to average a triple-double in a playoff series of six or more games (17.5 ppg, 11.2 rpg, 10.2 apg) in the 2002 Eastern Conference Finals vs. the Boston Celtics (the other is Magic Johnson). "

NCAA Tournament[edit]

I added that Dwyane Wade, Oscar Robertson, and Andre Miller are the only players to record a Triple Double in NCAA Tournament history. I'm not sure if Magic recorded one, if so, anyone got a source? I'm pretty sure Oscar did, but a source would be helpful as well. Also, if anyone more recent has recorded one, feel free to add with a source or discuss. Zodiiak 23:23, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Two teammates in a same night[edit]

Jordan and Pip once did a triple-double in a same night. It was repeated recently by... (I don't remember exactly) Vince and Kidd. Could someone check out and write this fact in this article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Egressio (talkcontribs) 04:53, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Marcus Camby[edit]

On March 15, 2008, Marcus had a triple-double in 27 minutes. Is this the fastest triple-double in NBA history? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.16.228.8 (talk) 05:32, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jason Kidd[edit]

He averaged a triple double one season —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.210.85.20 (talk) 22:47, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, he did not! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.57.45.95 (talk) 17:37, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
