Treatment[edit]

The following comment by Adanna78 was moved from Trimethylaminuria#Treatment

Should include how much of each supplements should be taken and also who do you get in contact with for more information.

Deleted section[edit]

The Incidence section I just deleted was lifted almost word-for-word, without attribution, from an ABC News Website. That's plagiarism.— Preceding unsigned comment added by J M Rice (talkcontribs) 19:07, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wow[edit]

I just landed here from a link from outside, read the lead, and didn't understand a word. -Roxy the dog™ (resonate) 03:29, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

When you say rare, say how rare. Jidanni (talk) 01:41, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Found this: The frequency of the severe type of the disorder in this population could thus be as high as 1 in 40,000. The true prevalence of the disorder is unknown; however, of patients referred to a malodour clinic in Philadelphia, 35% had trimethylaminuria. The incidence of heterozygous carriers is higher in other ethnic groups studied: 1.7% in Jordanian, 3.8% in Ecuadorian and 11.0% in New Guinean populations,20 suggesting the frequency of the disorder may be as high as 1 in 3000 and 1 in 400 in the latter two groups, respectively. https://www.nature.com/articles/ejhg2011214#:~:text=The%20frequency%20of%20the%20severe,Philadelphia%2C%2035%25%20had%20trimethylaminuria. --Brutalar (talk) 07:10, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Needs some metabolic pathway descriptions[edit]

Article would be better with a clear definition of the life cycle of tma in the body. A section about precursors, bacteria in the gut, direct tmao from seafood, etc. Also maybe move a bit of stuff from symptoms as I didn't have a good spot to put it.

I'll see if I can do something over the next few days. Brutalar (talk) 21:38, 8 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
