Some basic questions

When you say that "[t]he tribune benches represented the typical sitting right of the Roman magistrates", are you implying that these were versions of the curule chair? The article on Roman magistrates doesn't mention anything about magistrates having a right to be seated, nor does the article on the curule chair. It was a symbol granted to magistrates, but it lists those entitled to use it, and tribunes apparently weren't amongst them. So what exactly were these benches? This article suggests that they could be moved around at will, and used in different locations. But the lead also states that they were placed specifically in the Roman forum. So were they supposed to be in a specific place, or could they be wherever a tribune wanted to go? Was there ever a law indicating where these benches had to be set up? Also, the tribunes wouldn't be able to prevent all executions by setting up shop near the Tarpeian Rock. Only a few executions were carried out there, most being performed by strangulation elsewhere.
