I removed the redirect to Transdermal_patch from transdermal patch.

Transdermal analgesics[edit]
The article Salonpas has been proposed for deletion; that's fine since that article is largely advert. In my experience, though, 'salonpas' is, like 'kleenex', commonly used as a generic term for the type of products the company makes. Transdermal analgesics, typically methyl salicylate or capsaicin, are common over-the-counter remedies in Japan, and I think they've recently gone on the market in the US. I don't know about the market elsewhere. I wonder if transdermal analgesic pads are notable enough to warrant a separate page? or a section of this one? Cnilep (talk) 16:20, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

"Vapour Patch"[edit]
When listing types of patch (matrix, reservoir, etc) the "Vapour" patch is clearly written as a sales pitch for some new product not actually delivering any drug, except maybe menthol.

Searching[edit]
the terms transdermal & dermal aren't very well known so people who may be contemplating using one of these & looking for info will know them as sinply 'patches' (which is what a Brit GP will most likely call them). 5-HTP transdermal?[edit]
- 5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) can also be administered through a transdermal patch, which was launched in the United Kingdom in early 2014.[1]
No proof of effectiveness or absorption, neither by this cited manufacturer, nor by any other sources I could find. So probably 5-HTP can not be absorbed transdermally.

lidocaine patch?[edit]
the Wiki article on lidocaine mentions a 5% lidocaine transdermal patch can be used as analgesic. this article does not mention Lidocaine at all. She3sha3y5 (talk) 11:52, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
