Deadliest?[edit]

Discrepancy: This article (unreferenced) describes the accident as Australia's second deadliest. However, the Fokker F27 article describes it as the deadliest. Maybe this needs clarifying.--Lester 20:45, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, tied first for civil aviation. 29 fatalities in the ANA DC-4 crash 1950 near Guildford WA (VH-ANA). One passenger died after six days in hospital. The worst crash was 40 deaths for a USAAF B17 at Townsville in 1943.
