French Resistance[edit]

The television series "Secret Passages" covered the traboules of Lyon in the episode "Drug Tunnel." Most of the program was regarding tunnels used to smuggle narcotics over the Mexico/US border, but they also covered a casino and the traboules. They addressed the use of these shortcuts by French resistance fighters during the WWII, including describing Lyon as the headquarters of the Resistance. While two of the experts they had on the program were Lyonnais author Régis Neyret and a tour guide, a third was a French freedom fighter who spoke on experiences using the traboules to avoid Gestapo on a regular basis, including a network of secret mail boxes. I'll look for sources online to back this up. Atypicaloracle (talk) 16:46, 6 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ever find anything? I'm curious what might be out there. I find it difficult to understand the concept and development of these passageways based on this article alone. Thanks! Cjcaesar (talk) 19:57, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Okay -- but what is it?[edit]

How about something to tell us what it actually is? Nothing in the text gives it a definition or physical description, and the pictures are just confusing, if decorative. Is it supposed to be a type of stairwell, tunnel, or what?
