From where in Ireland?[edit]

Does anyone know anything of his background prior to USA? Fergananim (talk) 10:07, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

he reportably came from Kilcolman County Limerick, Ireland — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.83.72.154 (talk) 18:19, 30 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting I found that he was reportedly wanted for the murder of Maywood Bank President in 1922 during a heist in which $12,000 was stolen. Police had no real evidence it was him but it had the hallmarks of a Tommy O'Conner job. Inconsistent lead section[edit]

The lead section says O'Connor escaped the day before his scheduled execution, this is based on an editor interpreting The Times source, which says "... on the eve ..." as meaning "... the day before ...", yet the text in the body, and historic versions of the text in the lead, says "... four days before ...". This inconsistency relies on literally interpreting the word "eve" as meaning "the day before". However, I am not so sure such a literal interpretation of The Times report is correct. One must remember The Times is an English newspaper, not an American one, and it was reporting in 1921, not 2021, so "eve" also has the connotation of "... a period of time before ...". So my question is: when precisely was O'Connor scheduled to be executed and when exactly did he escape? Knowing those two dates will enable calculation of the number of days. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 08:34, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
