Photo

Perhaps a different photo should be found for this article. McClintock is running for Congress now. The current photo seems more to highlight the other person he's with than McClintock himself. We need some portrait style photo. Any thoughts? JBFrenchhorn (talk) 09:33, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Judy Mikels

2000 Primary Election for State Senator Tom McClintock (R), 74.9% Judy Mikels (D), 25.1%

The above quote from the article may have an error in it. There is a D after Judy Mikels's name, indicating that she ran as a Democrat. But this was a primary election. Does anybody know of a source that might indicate that she was in fact running as a Republican? Comments on current article status

This article needs a lot of work to conform to quality standards and to be the type of article worthy of McClintock's long political career in California. From my observation (somewhat far away since I am a Bay Area liberal), McClintock is a rock star for the conservative base of the California Republican Party. The picture at the top of the page, beyond looking bad because of pixels, also has copyright problems because it was copied from his website. There are few citations in the article, so I'm adding a citations needed tag. Most of the sections in the article need expansion (only a few sentences on the recall?). There seems to be a few editors (perhaps a little newer to Wikipedia than me) dedicated to the cause of improving this page. Tom McClintock's religion

I'm new to Wikipedia, so I hope this is the appropriate way to address this problem. The problem is this: I have now edited Tom McClintock's page for the second time changing his religion from "nontheist" to Christian. McClintock is a Christian and is specifically a member of the First Baptist Church of Elk Grove. Somebody is spreading misinformation saying he's a nontheist, because he's not and this claim is baseless. I agree. Doing some quick Google searches brings nothing to suggest that he is a nontheist. This is probably the best article we have, so I'm going to change it back to Christian. Thanks. --thequackdaddy (talk) 04:07, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

districts

Am I missing something, or is the 19th state senate district, which he currently represents, actually mostly overlapping with the 24th federal district, not with the 4th federal district that the article says he's running in? --Delirium (talk) 03:04, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

I don't know much about the numbers, not much more than what I see in the articles you linked to. But I do know this: McClintock is representing a southern CA district in the State Senate. But he is running to represent a northern CA (near Sacramento) district in this congressional election. So you are correct. Until we see proof otherwise, Tom McClintock'legal residence is in Thousand Oaks, CA. His "domicile" is in Elk Gove, which makes some sense due to his tenure as a State Senator and its location being closer to Sacto. although "The state elections code requires legislators to maintain a residence in their district, and presumes that a senator is “domiciled” where he or she is registered to vote, said Lance Olson, an attorney with expertise in government and political law."
