the STAR WARS poster linked on this WIKI page and thus attributed to TOM JUNG is actually a different later poster created by THE HILDEBRANDT brothers based on Jung's original. a picture file of JUNG's original SW poster can be seen here: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/80/46/b4/8046b4a133ecaa8b690dd29c6861b6c4.jpg

Skewed logo: not designed by Tom Jung but by Dan Perri?[edit]

In the section "Later career" you can read "The poster also featured a notable title logo from Jung, mimicking the film's famed opening crawl." In another wiki article — concerning the origin of the Star Wars opening crawl — it is said that this skewed logo was designed by Dan Perri and later used in Tom Jung's Style ‘A’ poster.

--> Should therefore the above sentence ("...logo from Jung...") be deleted? --Glasladen (talk) 03:31, 5 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

birth year[edit]

@Jobrjobr: where are you getting 1929? i see all sorts of dates online — "over 60" in the 2007 LA Times interview linked in the article (1937 to 1947 if in his 60s though he could have been like joking and saying something pretty low), 1942 https://postercollector.co.uk/blog/tom-jung-the-man-behind-the-posters/ and 1929 on some random records site (but that is someone living in Connecticut when at least in 2007 he was living in California -- could be someone totally different). I haven't looked through all the interviews linked for mentions of his age but it is currently unsourced and I would love to know if you found it anywhere reliable (he should be in the 1940 census for probably Suffolk County MA if he was born before then but I couldn't find a searchable digitized copy easily if someone wants to look)

I started/wrote this article about Tom Jung.
Thank you for the question - At some point I gave up on Wikipedia, but try to put some effort in to not have this article turn into rubbish...Know him personally - Living person that would only like his birth year in the article.
1929 is correct.
The Academy Library has biographical information on Tom - I am not sure how much of it is searchable online. Jobrjobr (talk) 04:09, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
