Love

It looks like Maurel Studios printed the first iteration of the iconic "Love" print by Robert Indiana. Looking for better documentation.[1] WomenArtistUpdates (talk) 02:23, 22 January 2023 (UTC)  Done

Women artists

Hi, WomenArtistUpdates. I spent this morning in the archives of the PMoA. I was researching several topics but in the process I made a list of women artists from various papers. Many of the names I did not recognize so I'll do some checking to see if any are worth passing along to you for new articles, assuming they're not already on Wiki.

I found lots of information on the National Serigraph Society and Creative Printmakers Group but it's not been published so I'll use if for my non-Wiki article on my father. He was involved in both of those groups.

On a separate note, I noticed that my post on the timeline about the 1934 founding of the American Artist Association is gone. I hope there wasn't a problem with it?

By the way, one of the boxes of papers I went through at the museum archives today was the correspondence of Carl Zigrosser, their highly effective curator of prints and drawings from the 40's through mid-60's. Those letters were fascinating and shed some light on a few issues that are not discussed in any of the books I have.

Best regards,

Hi Rwarsager, That deletion was TOTALLY by mistake. It is back in now. No idea what I did, but I was fixing something else and deleted American Artist Association. Sorry! Very glad your trip to Philly was a success!. WomenArtistUpdates (talk) 21:38, 9 February 2023 (UTC)
Hi, WomenArtistUpdates. Thanks very much for your reply. No worries. I'm relieved. I thought perhaps my inclusion of "AAA" triggered something if it was exclusively for the automobile association's use. All the best! Rwarsager Rwarsager (talk) 22:43, 9 February 2023 (UTC)
Hi, WomanArtistUpdates. I hope all's well with you. Just touching base - I've been absorbed in various concerns lately but I do plan to research some more additions to the timeline, especially for the later decades which you mentioned. I hope your initiatives are going well. All the best, Rwarsager 2601:45:4004:8BD0:646E:AF6D:B585:D9CC (talk) 16:41, 19 February 2023 (UTC)

Blackburn one of the first printers to work with artists

Barnet works in Pennells Art Student League shop, learning the mechanics of printmaking from printers hired by Pennell. Printers weren't interested in teaching artists their techniques. Barnet teaches Blackburn. (pg 23) In the 60s Blackburn goes to ULAE where he teaches technical craft. He collaborates with Rauschenberg on Accident[1] (pg 38) Printmaking in America : collaborative prints and presses, 1960-1990. WomenArtistUpdates (talk) 02:12, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
