Very Ambiguous Sentence[edit]

"Although there has been uncited intel of various game dealers selling non-U.S. Guncon 3 controllers by itself, other unsourced intel suggests that claim is false.[who?][citation needed]"

Not sure what to do with this sentence, but it seems very unclear... I've deleted it for now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.197.3.90 (talk) 11:23, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Prewords[edit]

Although a little out of date now, there was a Time Crsis 4 machine in the Namco Wonderpark in Meadowhall, Sheffield. Having played it, the plot revolves around a splinter of the US Military stealing the Terrorbots, and using them for their own means.

There is also sections of the game where the player is onboard a helicopter, firing a minigun, as well as sections where the player is barricaded in to a section, and forced to defend for a certain period of time. This is where the screen-changing aspect of the game comes in. Finally, there's also a section where the player must escape from quicksand.

Another interesting addition was a character that followed you around, assisting in killing enemies and giving out weapon ammunition when the player runs low. There was also speakers attached to the machine representing contact with a military base.

I'm putting this into the discussion and not the main article because I'm no good at writing main articles, and this is more of a spoiler/possible gameplay kind of thing.

Re: Trivia[edit]

Guys, don't you think that this "Trivia" section in a video game and/or video game character articles is getting really old? I've seen edits which mention an add in the Trivia, and the Trivia concept is getting really old, please advise. Thanks. — Vesther (U * T/R * CTD) 10:55, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A rant about editing[edit]

Regardless of what you edit (I'm not going to name any names, neither commit any WP:OWN atrocities), ALL edits that you do whether if it's here or any other Wikipedia article MUST be verifiable without any exceptions. No if's, and's, or but's. Period. Also, try not to violate any copyrights when editing guys. I really don't want to bring you guys back to first grade, but because I've seen two waves of unverifiable edits, I have to do this. Your cooperation is appreciated. — Vesther (U * T/R * CTD) 00:54, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Seiyuus[edit]

"Time Crisis 4 is the first game of the Time Crisis franchise to deploy seiyuus for the Japanese-language cabinets, and English-speaking voice actors for the non-Japanese cabinets".

Seiyuus means nothing to me and I suspect nothing at all to most of our readers - what does it mean?

--Charlesknight 13:41, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A Seiyuu is a Japanese Voiceover who does voice work for a variety of applications—video games, Japanese cartoons, animated movies, whatever you can come up with. The reason why it's mentioned is because the cabinet will be localized for Japan for the first time. Prior to Time Crisis 4, all voices were exclusively on English, but because of the voice navigation system, seiyuus had to be used for the Japanese release, because not too many people in Japan speaks nor understand English. — Vesther (U * T/R * CTD) 02:17, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A little Time Crisis etiquette[edit]

At this point, there will be NO console conversions of Time Crisis 4 for now, neither there will be additional Time Crisis games for the timebeing. This article's talk page is to be used ONLY to discuss improvements for the article. Unless there is a citation for such, please refrain from editing this article and its talk page unless you have credible improvements to make.At this point, the PlayStation 3 version of Time Crisis 4 has been confirmed, so there is a reason for this comment to be nullified due to a growing wealth of external resources.

Talk Page Vandalism[edit]

Please use talk pages only to discuss about edits and/or to improve articles here in Wikipedia. This is NO PLACE for such silly chit-chat and/or to put unconfirmed information. Thank you. — Vesther (U * T/R * CTD) 23:02, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Information Leak[edit]

During the beginning of the game, the VSSE Director mentioned that there is an "Information Leak" as Giorgio and Evan face off the soldiers. I think this should be mentioned somewhere in the article that the soldiers ambushed the heroes inside the airport through an act of an information leak. Elizabeth "Beth" Conway[edit]

What I had to do was I had to go to Namco Bandai's official Time Crisis 4 website in Japanese, listen to the whole attract movie, did a google search of "Karen Thompson" "voice" to find out that a famous voice actress named Megan Hollingshead was the one who did Beth's English VO for the game. Realizing that this could be the correct Karen Thompson that gamers are looking for, I had to also listen to a voice sample of Megan Hollingshead and compare the voice with Beth's English Voice in the Attract Movie. I edited the Megan Hollingshead article a bit to make a note of this as after hearing it through headphones, have positive verification that Megan Hollingshead was liable for Beth's English VO in the game. — Vesther (U * T/R * CTD) 02:16, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

ATTN: Crystal Ball-ism content[edit]

Those who have invested themselves in a particular video game franchise should know that crystal ball content will not be tolerated at Wikipedia as it will be moderated as vandalism. Apparently the crystal ball vandal appears to be from Singapore and has been warned too many times not to add cruft/speculation/crystal ball content on the article and its talk pages. Remember Wikipedia enforces "on-topic" edits stiffly, and if you have a problem with this, talk to a Wikipedia Administrator first. Period. — Vesther (U * T/R * CTD) 14:14, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No cruft reminder[edit]

I'm sure there will be another Time Crisis but since we have no information or annoucements about it, it's classed as crystal-ballism - meaning we don't add it to articles. --Charlesknight 12:47, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WP:NOT reminder[edit]

Please read WP:NOT before you even make any cruft edits. Any crystal ball-ism, cruft, and/or speculation will be considered WP:VSCA and disciplinary action will be taken. — Vesther (U * T/R * CTD) 15:01, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Marcus Black--Sam Riegel?[edit]

I just did a Google search for "Jack Ringo" and it must be the fact that Namco Bandai has a bad habit of spelling L's like R's, so I did a Google suggest search of "Jack Lingo" and amongst them was a wikilink to Sam Riegel. I'm not sure if Sam Riegel actually did Marcus Black's voice but here's a voice sample of Sam Riegel: [1].

Tell me what you think and if you guys approve it, then I'll edit the article to reflect Marcus Black's voiceover for English. — Vesther (U * T/R * CTD) 15:39, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is there some information that I missed?[edit]

On the article it says that Evan and Giorgio were sent to San Francisco International Airport. I have seen the game but how is there evidence that it is in SF? It might be it DOESN'T even look like SF International Airport. Jramirez23

It's a very minor detail. It probably doesn't even need to be in the article, but I've removed it pending confirmation from Vesther or whoever else has played this game. Hbdragon88 17:18, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I was the one who put it there. The evidence is brief, but in the prologue stage, above the door where the first terror bites are released (the camera pans down, so an actual screenshot would have to be before their release) there is a golden plaque-like sign with a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge and the words "Welcome to San Francisco" engraved onto it. megarockman 13:32, 16 Jan 2008 (CST) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.135.103.219 (talk)

Music[edit]

Does anyone know who the composer is for this game's music? Someone should probably find that out.

ATTENTION: PlayStation 3 Edits[edit]

PlayStation 3 Edits will be reverted on the spot. At this time, the PS3 version of Time Crisis 4 should be considered only a rumor. Please wait until June or July (or when information regarding the PlayStation 3 version of Time Crisis 4) becomes richer. At this time, information about a PlayStation 3 version of Time Crisis 4 is extremely lacking, so please refrain from placing PlayStation 3 details right now. Thank you for your cooperation. — Vesther (U * T/R * CTD) 02:04, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

First off, those who have added the information provide links, so if anything just say it's rumored, but because links are out there and they say more than just "Hey it appeared on ebgames," i.e. they note that the new GunCon is expected to be HD compatible makes them more substantive than you're giving them credit for. Moreover, I have to support the previous editor for making italics for the titles. We really should be grammatically correct in the articles and proper name titles should be italicized. Finally, by writing "last good edit", you're kind of insulting or mocking the other editors, who believe that they are making legitimate contributions and I agree with them. Have a nice night! Sincerely, --172.130.46.12 03:56, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's not enough at all. Many of these websites posted these news just because retailers posted them for tentative sale. Time Crisis 4 for the PlayStation 3 at this point is not guaranteed, and the release date is not guaranteed also. You're better off waiting until a video game show showcases Time Crisis 4 for the Playstation 3, which will shed better light for a warranted edit. Now drink the Kool-Aid. — Vesther (U * T/R * CTD) 04:05, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
In fact, GameSpot is telling the truth--while retailers and/or other Internet Resources have posted news regarding about the Time Crisis 4 PS3 rumor, it should be billed as not being guaranteed because things can change from time to time. — Vesther (U * T/R * CTD) 04:17, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Guncon 3[edit]

I believe that the Guncon 3 controller should be moved to the Guncon page since that section I marked for merging talks about the controller more than the game. I firmly believe that this page should only be used to discuss about the game, not the Guncon 3 controller.

Furthermore, I believe that by merging Guncon 3 to Guncon (alongside merging Guncon 2 with Guncon), editors can make contrasts and comparisons with each gun controller.

I personally didn't like the new IR gun controller used in Time Crisis 4, but I'm hoping that the IR "shakiness" problem will be remedied in the PS3 conversion of Time Crisis 4. The play control in Time Crisis 4, in a phrase, needs to be refined.

Judging from the references, Time Crisis 4 PS3 will support 16:9 widescreen, something the arcade release didn't support. Still I would recommend merging Guncon 3 with the Guncon page, and rename Guncon to "Guncon family" since it should talk about more than one Guncon. — Mark Kim (U * T/R * CTD) 12:49, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GunCon 3 merged to GunCon[edit]

Merging GunCon 3 to GunCon since the GunCon 3 may be compatible with future games (Time Crisis 4 being a lead-off for the controller), so I'm moving the GunCon 3 content to GunCon at the expense of the GunCon article initially looking ugly. 71.57.74.109 03:58, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:TimeCrisis4Logo-1-.jpg[edit]

Image:TimeCrisis4Logo-1-.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Intro should be brief[edit]

I believe that saying "X Game" is the "X game" to the "X Series" is a plenty. There's no need to utilize such a lengthy tagline. The first sentence of the article should be the definition of X Game. 71.57.74.109 21:41, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There MIGHT be a need for a little (though slight) sentence buffering because there could be some sentence issues (minor) on the last part of the intro. Shouldn't it be "well-received" instead of "received well"? Just curious. 71.57.74.109 21:49, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kraktor denied A-class seeking to Duke Nukem Forever because the lead was too short. Same with Super Princess Peach. If you look at all CVG featured articles, all of them have a 2-3 paragraph introduction. There is a need for a lengthy tagline. hbdragon88 22:41, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PS3 Downloadable Patch[edit]

I downloaded a patch for this thing last night. No idea what it does, it was only about 14 megs. Nothing's on it on the news sites. maybe some real wiki contributers wanna find out about it?

Extra Guncon 3 standalone purchase[edit]

Just wanted to make sure that my information doesn't get removed again. The Guncon 3 can be purchased by itself by many Japanese dealers. It comes in its own specially made box. I bought one myself, its black. You can purchase it from PlayAsia, Toys n' Joys or many other dealers. Just do a simple web search. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.200.185.162 (talk) 21:39, 14 February 2008 (UTC) This article talks about buying it alone. However it is incorrect, it does have special extra packaging. It also comes with an extra set of sensors. http://www.ripten.com/2007/12/07/guncon3-will-be-available-to-buy-seperately/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.200.185.162 (talk) 21:50, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lighten up[edit]

I have noted a couple of edits between two users who have different views whether or not "things" should be in the article or not. I'm not going to name names, but PLEASE lighten up for the sake of neutrality. Thank you. (Msg last edited by 71.57.74.109 (talk) 20:18, 28 March 2008 (UTC))[reply]

What happened to the Japanese Links?[edit]

I'm just curious--why were the links to Namco Bandai's Japanese-Language links removed? They were the basis for the source of the article, who removed them, please put them back in the article for citation purposes.

On an appending note, I should point out that some of the "things" obtained from Japanese-language links are NOT included with English-language links—sometimes it's necessary to put them in for citation purposes—don't you think it's worth it just to use the on-line Babelfish at Altavista (http://babelfish.altavista.com) and attempt to translate a block of text? 71.57.74.109 (talk) 14:09, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
