Weasel Words

"made any of his lines funny" is not exactly objective--68.194.44.141 17:00, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

  • This is a comedian we're talking about, not Darwin. Humor is always subjective. Wahkeenah 17:26, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, but the page comes across like half encyclopedia, half fan page 66.148.168.154 (talk) 20:18, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

The Tim Conway Show

I recall him being in a show, also co-starring with Joe Flynn, right after McHale's Navy ended. I think it was called the "Tim Conway Show"; he and Joe played airplane pilots. Does anybody have anything on this? 147.240.236.9 21:22, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I just added something on the show. Unfortunately, I think my audio recordings are now unplayable. --Penrose

What about the 1980's "The Tim Conway Show"? I remember watching it (and recording it with my tape recorder...and listening to it over and over--I might even be able to dig up that old cassette...). It had Maggie Roswell, Miriam Flynn, and some other guy.... I think it only lasted one season, but I thought it was great.Yelocab (talk) 22:05, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

Hermie & Friends

Why no mention of his starring role on the animated series Hermie and Friends in this article?

Questions

"This was actually a fake bust" (Carol Burnett exposing bosom to audience): How did you find this out? I have this sequence on a blooper tape; it sure looks real. Dougie monty 22:00, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

stuffed up elephant

I will never forget the sketch on the Carol Burnett show, where Tim imitated the poor elephant trying to trumpet: "fmork." He literally had the cast rolling around on stage laughing themselves sick, and the audience too. I don't remember the end of the sketch, they probably just rang down the curtain or whatever. 71.163.117.143 (talk) 20:51, 1 June 2014 (UTC)

Dorf

I believe Dorf FIRST appeared on Johnny Carson's The Tonight Show and was such a big hit that Johnny brought Tim back two or three times before Tim was inspired to do a video using the Dorf character. Someone would have to track down a reference for that, which is why I didn't add it to the article. Conway did several other appearances on Carson, including one where he appeared as a retiring football player in a stadium with bad (read: hilarious) echoes, supplied by his son, Tim Conway, Jr. Again, references. Also there's no mention of the Dentist sketch, one of the best from Carol Burnett, and as someone mentioned below, the Siamese elephant bit, which was pure Tim Conway ad-lib, with Vicki Lawrence supplying the "punch" at the end that made everyone fall down laughing, including Tim. 69.69.22.84 (talk) 07:42, 17 August 2014 (UTC)

Minor edit needed

Regarding this bit:
"his role as the bumbling, naive Ensign Charles Parker, Executive Officer of the PT-73, in the 1960s sitcom McHale's Navy, alongside Ernest Borgnine and Joe Flynn, where the two had gotten along well."

Which two? The addition of Conway makes three.

Military service

There is an egregious error in this section. It states Conway was in the army from 1958 to 1962, but also states under "battles/wars" that he served during the Korean War. That's impossible, as the Korean War active hostilities ended in 1953.

Once again we see the fundamental defect of Wikipedia: anyone can write anything. To illustrate the point, I half-feel like adding a section to the main article under "Military service" and write that he succeeded Douglas MacArthur as the commander of UN forces, and see how long it stays up. Being an ethical person, I won't do it. Jonball52 (talk) 19:37, 28 February 2016 (UTC)

I've removed what I couldn't verify quickly, and added a ref for being in the army. — Ched :  ?  20:52, 28 February 2016 (UTC)

Barnacle Boy

His voice credit for Barnacle Boy in SpongeBob SquarePants (1999-2012) is not listed in the television section of his filmography. Not good at editing tables so can someone add this please? PlanetDeadwing (talk) 18:33, 14 May 2019 (UTC)

Complete filmography

There's a hidden comment in the "Other Television" section that reads:

(Hide for now until Filmography is finished and can be rewritten) His other TV roles include:

Some of these roles are in the current filmography, but some are missing. If someone's got time to add them today, that would be great. (If not, I can get to them tonight or tomorrow.) ChiaLynn (talk) 18:27, 14 May 2019 (UTC)

Done However, there's now some redundancy between the television and video sections, specifically related to Hermie and Friends, and I'm not sure of the best way to deal with it. Would appreciate input/edits. ChiaLynn (talk) 00:25, 16 May 2019 (UTC)

Tributes

Does anyone think we should add tributes he received after he passed away? Matt Campbell (talk) 01:11, 16 May 2019 (UTC)
