Merge Bute Docks into Tiger Bay[edit]

Merger Queen Alexandra Dock into Tiger Bay[edit]

I don't agree. The articles deal with quite different concepts. The fact that an article is short is not in itself enough grounds for a merger. Deb (talk) 17:05, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How about a compromise and create a new article Cardiff Docks merge both and add up to date info from ABP (there is loads of referenceable material) as quite a few articles refer to Cardiff Docks without even a red link Tony (talk) 19:50, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm doing a fair bit of work on the South Wales valleys and I'm finding it difficult to link to these pages. I want to link to Cardiff Dock, but now I have four options, Tiger Bay, Alexander, Bute or just the Sub section on the Cardiff page. Compromise with one article covering Cardiff docks I would tentatively suggest - its too disparate and fractured at present and is long overdue organisation - its an important article as part of teh regions history. Jeremy Bolwell (talk) 09:17, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think we desperately need a Cardiff Docks article, which deals with the development and industrial heritage of the docks and its workings. On that basis I would merge the existing separately named docks articles into it. There is also a need for a separate Tiger Bay article, which can reference to the Cardiff Docks article but deals with the people and culture of the area. At the moment it mentions little on where the area is or its culture, but mostly references the industrial development of the docks: why does it not mention for instance the Norwegian Church, Cardiff? Prostitution[edit]
