This page is wrong. The initial Mileikovsky reference puts it as "decrease in numbers of species possessing pelagic development from the Equator towards the Poles, *and from shallow-shelf waters to greater oceanic depths*" (my emphasis) - Yes, the current opinion of what actually is going on is different, but that's not Thorson's rule as defined in that paper! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Will.pearse (talkcontribs) 14:59, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I reformatted the references , but I could not figure out how to avoid listing a reference more than once in the references list if it appears more than once in the text.Thus, Rohde 1985 appears three times as 3, 8 and 9, and Mileikovsky twice, as 1 and 7. How can I avoid this?
