Someone keeps adding notes about a character named Brian Falzon and a ghost engine to this page. Neither of these appeared in the film. I suspect "Brian Falzon" is either a fanfic character, in which case he has no business being on this page, or is a real person with a rich fantasy existence. Either way, can whoever it is please stop?

Just a note - whoever keeps adding the note about Edward not appearing, please stop. It is obvious that Edward doesn't appear in the film if one reads the characters section. Just a simple request. :) --Patchmo 00:45, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

There's a little too much fancruft in the trivia section. The information about "non polished models" is meaningless unless you know that the film used the same models as the television series. The info about trains having no drivers is meaningless unless you know that they have them in the television series. And I don't understand why it's necessary to point out that this is the only appearance of Splatter and Dodge, when this is technically a stand-alone movie.

Horrible grammar, puctuation, etc.

I just fixed some terrible grammer, capitalization, and puctuation on the part were it tells about each of the people caractors. Whoever wrote that please be careful as it looks like a 3-year old wrote it, not to be rude. :) Also, the reason for "Splodge"'s absence is they are now Iron 'Arry and Bert. Semi-protection?

I think we should put this page on semi prtection, as it has been seeing a rather large amount of vandalism recently since the viewing of the Director's Cut chase scene. Such as adding of Characters never there or claiming other voices - Bladez636 (talk · contribs)

Original cast

I keep seeing editors adding an "Original cast" section, for instance here or here. I'm not quite clear why we're doing this. Per MOS:FILM we only need a cast section relevant to this film, and it seems like maybe people are trying to link to the original film or series or whatever? I don't particularly care, but whatever the rational arguments are, they need to be presented here, since this "original" designation is not supported by MOS:FILM. I'm not sure why your annoyance would be of interest to me but I do appreciate the assist. This is exactly the problem with lists where no context is provided to help casual readers—the actual intended audience—understand the content. I've boldly made these changes. There's no reason to include a repetitive list of all the live-action actors again in this section if there was no significant change between the two lists. Instead, by focusing on the differences between the original voice cast and the new voice cast, and providing prose to explain the content, I think we have a better, intuitive list. "Releasing the Original Version"

Someone at sodor-island.net says they found a script. They started a petition to have the film made. Is this notable? Shortcut answer: Have independent reliable sources discussed this? No, they have not. It is not notable. - SummerPhDv2.0 16:07, 12 June 2016 (UTC)

The image's current attribution ("Own work") on Commons is incorrect. It is part of a copyrighted work and cannot be hosted on Commons. (I have listed it for deletion there.)
If there is a reason to include it here (and I haven't really looked at it), it would have to be under "fair use". The film's poster passes fair use as it is for identification of the work in question. Captures from a supposedly unreleased work print raise numerous questions, not the least of which is the origin of the images. If the captures are from an unreleased work, the recording they were taken from is likely a copyright violation itself. As such, we cannot use it. - SummerPhDv2.0 17:43, 4 August 2016 (UTC)

Improving the quality of the Article, "Thomas and the Magic Railroad"

Hello everyone! I understand that there seem to be multiple issues regarding the article, "Thomas and the Magic Railroad" as of February 2020. One of the things I noticed was that it could be written from a fan's point of view. Could you please elaborate?

TATMR is a British-American Film

What ever happed to the word British-American on TATMR Wikipedia page huh? Thomas And The Magic Railroad is a 2000 British American fantasy adventure film. The word British-American should be added back. SECREngineNo592 (talk) 12:08, 1 June 2021

@SECREngineNo592: As I put in my edit summary both times I've reverted this, please take a look at WP:FILMLEAD- "If the film's nationality is singularly defined by reliable sources (e.g., being called an American film), it should be identified in the opening sentence. If the nationality is not singular, cover the different national interests later in the lead section."
Essentially what this means is that if it were just an American film, then, "...is a 2000 American fantasy adventure film..." would be fine to put. However, if it is multiple nationalities, such as here, something such as 'British-American' is incorrect and should not be included. Hope that makes sense. Magitroopa (talk) 05:11, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
@Magitroopa: Thomas and the Magic Railroad is released in the UK two times on July 9 and July 14th 2000, and it was released in the US on July 26th 2000. Destination Films is a US Company but other three companies like Gullane Pictures, Isle of Man Film Commission and Icon Film Distribution are UK. Also TATMR is based on The Railway Series which is British and Shining Time Station which is American. So TATMR really is a British-American Film! It was mentioned in the Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit Wikipedia page that it's a British-American Film. SECREngineNo592 (talk) 12:51, 1 June 2021

Do not change "Subsequent Edits and Changes" to "Original version"

Any if you're going to try and do it, at least have the decency to capitalize, "version"

Changing it to "Original version" disputes the neutrality of the article, which is one of the many problems this article has.

Also, in the most recent edit, I noticed that 1995 was changed to February 1996. Allcroft was approached by London in mid to late 1995, not February. February 1996 is when she signed the contract. Read the goddamn article.

A section titled 'Original version' is not a neutrality issue whatsoever. There is an 'original version' of the film in comparison to what was released, and that's a fact. Magitroopa (talk) 17:32, 9 February 2022 (UTC)

Why does this page use MDY dates instead of DMY dates?

As Thomas originates from the United Kingdom, it would probably make more sense for it to be DMY dates instead of MDY dates. Thomasfan1000 (talk) 13:52, 21 February 2022 (UTC)
