monotypic, move to genus[edit]

Since there are several vernacular names and the genus is monotypic, I suggest the article be moved to the genus name Trugon--Kev min § 13:27, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm, the bird project mainly uses IOC World Bird List common names for species articles (which this is in effect), and they use " Thick-billed Ground Pigeon".[1] I can only think of prehistoric species or other species without common names where they are placed at a scientific name. I'm not sure where the other vernacular names come from, the IUCN just gives three differently spelled versions of the present name. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 14:14, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
