Nickelodeon Hair

What exactly is Nickelodeon Hair. Or more appropriattely, how did that phrase come about? I have never seen it anywhere else. Akkifokkusu 11:37, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Response to "Nickelodeon Hair": I'm guessing that "Nickelodeon hair" would refer to the "waves" given to many characters in popular Nickelodeon cartoons. Hey Arnold!, The Wild Thornberrys, As Told by Ginger, and Rugrats (among others) seem to sport this characteristic hair type. Of course, this does not apply to all cartoons within the network. Episodes as a new article?

Other television shows (specifically, other Nicktoons) have the episodes in a separate article as a list (see List of Hey Arnold! episodes). Since the episodes here are just a list, should we consider moving them to a new article, or will that make this main article too short? Steve McLinden 15:37, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

Dominant Themes

Nothing on the Vehicle?

I seem to remember that their vehicle was a pretty big part of the show, often a Deus Ex Machina of sorts or a catalyst for episodes (as in the one where it inflates a raft like device that allows them to avoid a waterfall, or the one where the security system goes on the fritz and locks them out, trapping them on an island) with its ability to transform suited to various terrains. I don't seem to remember its name, though, or much about it. I do think it would be a useful addition to the article. AlexDitto 01:50, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

Recent Vandalism

Just as a precautionary notice, there has been some vandalism to this article recently, mainly revolving around Telitubbies (sp?) and nudity. If this persists, perhaps a temporary block is in order. -dogman15 05:06, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

A source that could be used: Jerry Beck's Not Just Cartoons: Nicktoons!

I found a book in the bookstore called Not Just Cartoons: Nicktoons! by Jerry Beck. I'm not going to buy it and join the project, but I will ask the other members to get the book so that they can add real world information about various fictional characters.

This makes the creation of separate articles for *many* fictional characters feasible. Having information about the development of the character will make the articles satisfy Wikipedia:Notability (fiction)

Goofs

I think there are some facts that they got wrong in this show:

• While Eliza was eating some cheese a mongoose came and said it is a mouse. Mongooses are not rodents.

Upskirt and Eliza Dress

Hey shouldn't something make mention of whatever Eliza wore for most of the episodes, the shirt looking thing. Also shouldn't a mention be in there about the fact when she wore that outfit alot of upskirt shots were present and conveniently edited out when they went to Nicktoons. 75.179.153.39 (talk) 10:06, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

The dress is described by some official Nickelodeon sources as a mumu (see Muʻumuʻu), even though the neckline is totally wrong for that style. It would be worth mentioning, if we could find a source listing that as what she wore.

As for the editing, we'd definitely need some sort of source for that. It would be hard to edit out too many shots, without making the program a weird length. It's certainly a possibility that these edits were made, but I'm confused why Nick would let it air the first time, but not during the second run of the program. -- Zanimum (talk) 18:44, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

Name the episode?

I decided for a lark to try to clean up a "cultural references" section at Drinking bird. That contained all of the following: "In an episode from The Wild Thornberrys, Kip and Neil attempt to sell red drinking birds at a foreign market for money, but when Donnie shows up at their stall they abandon the scheme and instead attempt to use Donnie instead. Later when they take Donnie to perform as "the wild boy" at a theater, the curtain opens and reveals Donnie holding one of the drinking birds, (possibly to show how gentle he is), but when Kip and Neil show Donnie chocolate from backstage, Donnie begins to act wild (hence why Kip and Neil gave him the stage name "wild boy") and throws the bird away." Unfortunately, it doesn't actually name the episode, or even convince me it's not a related movie etc., so at the moment I judge the text essentially useless, but I'll link to it (or you can) if you know which one it is. Hello, Otterathome! I saw that you reverted my attempt to properly cite the Nigel Thornberry meme phenomenon that an earlier visitor attempted to contribute recently. I've no issue if you want to delete any improperly-cited reference to a Nigel Thornberry meme, but please note that when you reverted *my* edit, you reverted the article to the poorly-worded, factless update that preceded my clean-up attempt. If you don't think the meme is worthy of mention, I'd probably dig through the archives a little and restore a page that doesn't mention the meme. Eliza Doolittle

Eliza's name is a reference to Doctor Doolittle (a fictional character who could speak to animals) by way of the other famous character Eliza Doolittle from Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion/My Fair Lady. Excessive character wardrobe detail

An IP hopping user continues to add what I consider to be excessive character wardrobe detail to the article. We don't need to know every piece of equipment that a scuba diving character wears, since this article isn't about scuba divers. "Scuba gear" should be sufficient to get this point across, especially if we have to repeat the list as in the edit above. Further, content like "She wears almost her yellow shirt." makes no sense grammatically, and comes with no context to explain what it means. She almost wore a yellow shirt? How does almost doing something improve our understanding of the movie? User has previously submitted the content here, here, and here. WHAT’S UP WITH THE CHARACTER ARTSTYLE?!

Despite the good quality in the show is an original concept where you have a girl who has her ability to talk to animals, while the designs of the characters.... UAGH! GOD! I know I may get a lot of hate for saying this, but honestly, the character art designs are absolutely extremely GODAWFUL and HIDEOUS to look at, since this is a standard of Klasky Csupo we’re talking about. Not mention with As Told by Ginger designs are also terrible. I don’t like it at all, there’s no way that anyone, even people at Klasky Csupo, would think if their artstyles of most characters in shows they made to look adorable, hell no! Nobody like that kind of artstyle, but who dose?! That’s is why people hate the old design of movie Sonic, designs of Sonichu, and even the puppets/animatronics of Superstar Limo attraction!

And kinda think of it, those designs are much like some bad-looking drawings drawn by some brain-dead preteen.

And if this show has some good potential creative wise, I’d like to imagine if this was drawn beautifully, like either a Disney cartoon or an anime.

So yeah, this is my opinion of the designs. That’s fine you don’t agree, as long you respect it.

But please feel free to share your thoughts about my opinion.
