Year change and extra information about the disappearance of Jay's father[edit]

The article originally stated that the Odyssey was shown on the UK's Channel 4 in 1998, when in fact it was 1995. I know this for a fact because I avidly watched the series at the time, so I changed it accordingly. Also, I added the following to the sentence about Jay's quest to find his long-lost father: "who fell overboard from a small boat into a lake whilst they were on a fishing trip together, and has not been seen since." Parallels to Homer's The Odyssey[edit]

I think, considering the title and content of the series, there might be enough parallels in the show to create a section on its relation to Homer's Odyssey. There are themes of searching for a lost father, the suitor that inevitably shows up, and scenes hearkening back to things like the sirens and the lotus-eaters.

Of course, this article is pretty bare so maybe something like that should be added after a more comprehensive plot and episode guide. Superbeltway (talk) 02:53, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
