Untitled[edit]

There's another page for this film: The Man in the Moon (film). Someone should join the two articles together. 90.129.1.64 17:49, 21 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. I added mergeto- and mergefrom-templates on the respective pages. --Bensin 20:40, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree with the statement, "Just as Court begins to reciprocate Dani's feelings, even giving her her first kiss, and their relationship begins to develop..."

I never got the impression that Court returned Dani's feelings at all, I felt that he just kissed her because her lips were about an inch from his. He clearly saw her as too young for him (or any boy) romantically, a naive kid who just wanted him to swim with, often a pest. He showed little if any awareness of her tremendous crush on him. Court made it clear that he felt quite burdened by his responsibilities, inheriting the position of "man of the house" at too young an age. HE showed annoyance that Dani didn't realize how demanding his lifestyle was. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.116.10.81 (talk) 20:40, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Man in the MoonThe Man in the Moon (1991 film) – Per WP:NOPRIMARY, I believe this should be a redirect to Man in the Moon (disambiguation). Alternatively, I could support a rationale that the Man in the Moon is the primary target and it should redirect to that article. Either way, there are many other "The Man in the Moon" works from stage plays, to books, songs, and multiple films. I am not seeing a reason to make the 1991 film the primary target. • Support and redirect The Man in the Moon to Man in the Moon as a clear primary redirect. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:46, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per WP:SMALLDIFFS and/or WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. The large majority of readers bothering to type "The Man in the Moon" want this article. It gets far more pageviews than anything else with the exact title (there's only a novel and a TV special, each of which gets negligible views) and even gets considerably more views than Man in the Moon (many of whom probably want this film). The hatnote takes care of the small number of readers who want something other than this film; there's no need to inconvenience the majority. Station1 (talk) 18:31, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support I don't think WP:SMALLDETAILS applies in this case, as "Man in the Moon" is variously referred to as "The Man in the Moon". It may be better to move to The Man in the Moon (film), as the other one has since been moved to a different disambiguation. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 22:16, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Zxcvbnm Standing practice at WP:WikiProject Film is to disambiguate by year when there are multiple films with the same title. Usually we redirect the simple film disambiguation to the film section of the disambiguation page. Best.4meter4 (talk) 16:48, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Though we don't have a definite article in the title of Man in the Moon, it's naturally referred to as "the Man in the Moon" and is the primary topic both for both forms (with and without a definite article). I agree with Necothesp about the primary redirect. ╠╣uw [talk] 12:17, 2 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, there does not seem to be a clear primary topic. JIP | Talk 11:38, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak support no clear primary topic by long-term significance so redirect to DAB. Crouch, Swale (talk) 21:23, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
