Update[edit]

I read this book yesterday afternoon so have had a go at updating and expanding the article a little. It seems to centre on Krebbs rather than being told from his point of view, as it switches character to Wilhelm II and Princess Hermine on several occasions, so I've ltered the plot summary slightly. I've added a "Historical context" section discussing the main differences between the actual history and the fictionalised version, and a "Main characters" section. The new sections are unreferenced, but the historical context is discussed in a postscript to the novel, and I've pretty much used this as a basis for the section. What a crap![edit]

If you need another proof that those imbecile Brits never understood anything about Germany, may it have been imperial, fascist, communist or democratic, read this one. Up yours, BoJo!
